Sweet......I just got back from a trip. My truck was in the shop with a $1200 repair bill. I went to pick it up, and both batteries are dead. (its a diesel)

So anyway I remember this thread. I get a battery, add it to my cart, buy three cans of that $2.50 brake parts cleaner. $40 off my order. Sweet.....so my wife walks in and says you got a letter....open it up and there is a $250 visa gift card from a company I recently interviewed with.....score the Trifecta. So I place two separate orders and save $80 bucks!!!!!

My day went from crappy to worse....and then perked up....thank you Garage Journal......

Thanks to everyone that keeps reminding me of the Advance Auto promo codes. I got $50 off of $125 worth of stuff tonight from Advance Auto with local pick-up. Did something similar last weekend. All stuff I didn't really need, but is good to have. Extra sets of deep and shallow GearWrench metric sockets in 1/4" and 3/8", three GearWrench pearhead ratchets (which are quite nice for the price with promo codes), and some extra adapters and universals.

I am surprised at my initial impression of the GearWrench socket holders; each clip has a bearing in it, though I'm not sure it's spring-loaded. But they're much nicer new than the el-cheapo metal clips from many others (I got some Toptul sockets last week, but tossed the holders in the trash since they're junk). I was going to put the new GearWrench in some extra Hansen trays I have, but I like the GearWrench holders enough that I'm going to use them for a while.

You guys are a bad influence. :) I had more metric sockets than I needed before joining this board, now I've got more than I'll need for a very long time.

Reverse marketing, it is like sayin "Nothing here to look at" as people walk by, that triggers them to look. Also Sears is advertizing the sh*t out of that impact driver on Discovery channel, so for now they are probably moving a few units. Its all part of them laying the ground work for Black Friday. Many women have no idea what to get their man for Christmas, but if it says Craftsman on it they feel safe in getting it.

These are the best of these type I've ever used. 12"-36. (Irwin made some back in the day I think). But the Crafty version is really nice. I have several but could also use another 1/2 dozen for woodworking.

I need to stock up when the have sale. Anyone have a suggestion when the best time to do this would be? Holidays coming up so I reckon there are going to be opportunities.

A small size *might* have been 50% off at one point, but I don't remember. I don't think that these go on sale that often.

I bought some of those bar clamps on a black friday. Probably a few years ago but the past few years it seems like they have the same stuff on sale. You might want to check Sears then! Good luck!

Home Depot has this set of Irwins with several clamps similar to that for $25. I think it also has some pinch type clamps along with the type you're looking for.

looks to me like it says right in their own ad to use the 20% off coupon on any of their 7000 products

Can anyone comment on the quality (or lack thereof) regarding the US general 11 drawer cabinet pictured in the advertisement a few posts up? Does the 20% coupon work on that too?

No reason given, as a matter of fact the e-mail made it sound like I cancelled the order when I certainly didn't:

Status: CANCELED

Never mind, I checked Amazon and my order is still valid. Shipping soon with a delivery estimate of Nov 18-23. The above e-mail was apparently a new scam to buy errectile drugs.

I checked and its actually a 13/16" socket.

I cannot be held liable for Amazon's listing errors. I just post the deals in hopes someone else can benefit as well.

I ordered a set of the SK as well. Had some Amazon gift cards that I won so its not a huge loss if it gets canceled etc. Would love for it to come through though.

They have like 50k items for sale, but tend to have the highest prices of any in searches, so no clue why anybody would normally buy from them.

My bet is that they are some kind of non stocking drop ship operation.
