I don't know if anyone checks out http://www.tooliday.com/ but they are running a marathon sale weekend where new deals pop up every few hours. Make sure you check out all the tabs, I have purchased some pretty good reconditioned tools from them.

I went to ACE today and the only thing I found that was "decent" was a ACE brand 3/8" flex head ratchet made in Taiwan. I got it for $9.25 after the 50% off coupon. It has 42 teeth and is actually made pretty well. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1286484

SCscoutguy- Not a bad ratchet if it's not used professionally, but I've had Craftsman @uck up after just home use.

I'm headed to ACE anyway, so I might get the flex head. Where's the coupon ?

No worthy Knipex? that was what I was hoping for...going in a bit to see what mine has... :shocking:
My store did not have any Knipex in stock at all.

Yea I just got this to go in my junkyard bag. I have Matco flex heads in my tool box. The Coupon is on the front page of their site. They also have them in the flier in the store as well so odd's are you can just pick one up when you go in.

It says 30 pieces on the description. I'll let yall know on Tuesday when I get them.

I just got the email from Amazon that my bowl full of pliers shipped. I thought for sure they'd cancel it.

It'll be interesting to see what arrives.

My Ace didn't have any Knipex either. I went to 2 of them. 1 had minimal high quality hand tools, some Kline in the electrical aisle, and the other didn't really have any.

I ended up with a Stanley super wonder pry bar for about $7 from 1 Ace and a hatchet to use for camping for about $7 from another.

The real score came when I used the 50% off coupon at Lowe's and got a 10" Knipex cobra for $15. I tried to use it on the 2 pack that they had on sale for $40, but they would only apply it to regular price merchandise.

As said earlier, the Ace coupon is right on their webpage, so print out a bunch and shop them around town at other stores. I wish I had more when I was out and about.

Oh yea, and I got these also for $8

My local Ace had Knipex end nippers, but that was it. I picked them up for $14 (not as good as the Husky $1 deal above). They also have a $10 off $50 coupon that will be valid tomorrow.

Just came from my local Home Depot and their Rayovacs AA 16+16 packs are on sale for $5. Tried to use the Ace 50% coupon on a Channel Lock pliers but no luck. Oh well...

At HD, I picked up a vaughn nail puller with handle for $5, normally $10 . Looks like they are clearing the inventory. The pullers without handle are not on sale and nothing is in the right place.

Made in usa.

What part of the store were these in? I was just over there and couldn't find them. Clerks weren't much help, leading me to the Duracell and Energizer (which were also on sale, but not quite the discount of the Rayovacs).

Edit: I found the HD black friday ad online and it says, "30-pack Duracell AA batteries" $5. Hmmm.

Lowes has pro and Christmas colored clamshell lid 12 gallon containers for $2.97 each, doesn't qualify for free shipping. Clear ones are twice as much.

EDIT: These containers are fragile, not recommended for anything but long-term storage and filing.

They've been pushing out the old Vaughn stock since summer at my local HD.

Lowes has on Knipex cobra 7" and 10" pliers combo on sale for 39.99, regular 59.99.
Also, bench cookies are 7.99, regular 9.99.

I believe this may be until the end of the month but don't quote me on it.

The reviews are decent for this OBD II scanner. I'm sure it won't last in a pro shop but it should work for me.

Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool $22.50

No live data, not much of a scanner, just a code reader. If you've got a laptop, you're better off with a usb tool like this one on Amazon at $29, free shipping. You can find it on ebay cheaper or in a bluetooth model for Android/Windows smartphones. Be advised that bluetooth models don't work with the iPhone or iPod touch due to Apple's choices.

If you want a cheap scanner that works without a PC and shows you real live data without going used on Craigslist, I recommend the C•Reader V, currently $67 on Amazon. It's as full featured as the popular $200-ish models from Equus/Actron, less the pre-96 and ABS coverage of some of the specialty models. The manufacturer has been good about supporting users with updates and the like, and all at no cost.

Do you think these will work with Asian Domestic Market vechicles?

Thanks

As long as your vehicles comply with OBD-II, it'll do fine. Most vehicles worldwide since 1998 are OBD-II, some manufacturers began using OBD-II as early as 1994.

nobody mentioned the 6 pc. gearwrench sets at ACE for $10 after mail in rebate? Well, i accidentally saw santa come home with them (oops :) ) i think but i'm not sure that santa got the sae and metric, the rebates will come in handy and will probably go towards nuts and bolts or maybe a pliers or something.

Shop-Vac 12gal 4.5hp wet/dry vac, $42 on Amazon. It's not as big as the one at Lowes for $29 but I like orange more than I like Lowes. I believe there were questions of the quality of the unit at Lowes, which wouldn't surprise me. I see a lot of blue Lowes shop vacs out with the trash around here on a regular basis.
