thanks Cabman, you da man! Went to my local true val. this am. Saw they had 5 piece sets on hand for $41. So I went home, ordered a set of SAEs and a set of metrics and had them sent to store. Already paid with Paypal, just $21 with tax for the two sets. Great DEAL, Thank you so much for the heads up.

I received the IR ARO Series 1500 combo today. The COO is South Korea, but the unit is well-built with no machining issues. Compared to the cheapies I've been looking at this was one heck of a deal for $46.

I bought one of these as well last night. How vertical do they have to be?

My tank is going to kick it out maybe 45 degrees from vertical. The other option would to be to get a longer 1/4" pipe ****** if I absolutely had to.

I bought a set of those pliers off the truck for that price on sale. $67. I think he mentioned they were older stock and that newer models had already replaced them.

I would assume they need to be as vertical as possible.

Mine will be about 6' from the compressor.

Any time I have seen anything like this in use, it has been vertical and has had a leader hose (3'-6') running out of the compressor to this type of unit and it was mounted on a wall or other some other stationary location. I thought about this for a little while, but I already have a filter on my retractible hose, and for the amount I use my compressor I decided to use my $$$ on other things. But they are very nice.

Thanx Guys!

I bought one of these for my little 26 Gal Craftsman because I was complaining about delivery and was told the Reg was causing my issues. Looks like a hell of a deal, glad I found this thread! Sort of...

Thanks! Picked up one of these right after you posted this. My Lowes had 1 left and they held it for me until I got there. $22 out the door with my discount. It works great. Thanks for the heads up.

Stopped in at my local Sear Essentials store (Bethlehem PA) that is being converted back into a K-Mart. Lots and lots of tools on sale for 25% to 30% off. Picked up some items I wanted that don't go on sale. Looks like they emptied out the returns cubbyhole with all the smashed/taped/torn open boxes on display. The employee confirmed that the sale was being run by a liquidating company, so buyer beware on the real discount. I was able to use the Shopsavvy app on my phone to confirm that some of the 30% off prices were higher than Sear's on-line prices.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be at the DMV in A-town tomorrow, so maybe I'll stop there afterwards.

For you homebrewers out there, Amazon has a sale for a 23 L glass carboy with free shipping with Amazon Prime for $28.07. It's worth it for the shipping alone. You could also use it to store used engine oil, just keep it out of the way so nothing can hit it and so it can't fall. Note that, though it says it takes 5-6 weeks to ship, current people that have ordered are reporting a mere 7-10 days to actually ship.

Update: It looks like it is actually taking only about a week to ship if that makes a difference to any of you. I will fix the original post now.

Diamond Plate Outlet Strip, $24.99. Spend $25 for free shipping. I have one of these and really like it. For this price, it's a steal.

Not sure I would call it a steal. I bought one, and this thing is cheap cheap cheap. Very flimsy, tight as heck outlets that become loose after using 'em once. Mounting brackets are flimsy as well, and it really needs at least one more bracket.

With that said, it does work, just don't know for how long.

This unit has now gone up to $54.99 at Amazon, however I found it elsewhere for $44.99 on devildogtools.com (free shipping on all orders). It is a promotional item there as well.

BTW, thanks Bart!

Thank you, extremely interested to see the utility/usefulness of this item! I had my eye on the cart... until now.:thumbup:

I am sure Amazon has good reasons on how they price stuff so differently at times but I don't understand them.

Usually, it seems prices will jump back up if only one item remains in stock after a deep discount and purchase frenzy... some sort of supply and potential demand formula

Hard to figure why and when they do a huge discount, it sure gets a lot of attention. Maybe it is like chumming when you are out fishing.

Thanks to a heads up here one time they had a ridiculous discount on a wera zyklop metric set for like 2/3rds off. I bought one and then the price jumped back up to just a reasonable discount. I then flipped it to another GJ member and he got a great deal too.

I visited Amazon for that toolbox around the same time as Defender Chassis and I think it said there were two left at that time. Probably true that the last one(s) jumps in price since they are seeing greater demand.

Similar case with the IR filter/reg/lubricator I referenced earlier. It was $46 then jumped to $54 when I looked at it earlier today. Once a few are purchased they have boosted demand and will bump the price up. Clever chumming they're doing!

Yup, on these Amazon clearance items, they price will start to drop periodically until they sell one. Then the price jumps back up to half off. Eventually it will head back down if no one buys.
