This unit has now gone up to $54.99 at Amazon, however I found it elsewhere for $44.99 on devildogtools.com (free shipping on all orders). It is a promotional item there as well.

Thanks for the heads up. I missed the original amazon deal and wanted one. Has anyone dealt with devildogtools before? Never heard of them...

Someone just bought a ton of beta stuff. A large number of items that were more than 50% off are back at 50%.

I want to see a real picture of the Beta end table when it arrives.

Yeah I bought from them before. They are good. The owner is a tool guy. If there is a problem just call or email him (Mike). He will help you directly.

I hadn't bought from Mike at Devildogtools before, but since my order today he's answered two questions of mine very quickly and clearly. Obviously I haven't gotten my part yet since I only ordered today, but he said he has it on hand and would try to ship today.

Someone is cleaning up on Amazon. all the PB Swiss and Beta stuff I was waiting for to go below 50% is now only 10% off.

It looks like they reduced the savings across the board on mostly everything PB Swiss. I noticed all the Wera stuff is back to almost normal pricing too.

In a couple weeks or so I'll be looking for 2 of the 8' Gladiator Modular workbenches. I can put this off for a while, no problems. Where and how would you guys go about getting the best deal on two of these?

I did a quick search for you on Google: http://www.google.com/search?source...960&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=80b737a1b0d6af3

Sears appears to be the cheapest at $500 (actually, you can get it down to $450- see below). Sears is by far the cheapest when you factor in shipping (free if you pick up in-store and $60 I think for shipping otherwise). That link shows Garage Organization as being $490, but they want... drum roll please...$230+ for freight, bringing you to $720.

So Sears is the way to go at $500. Now, for the best deal, wait until this Sunday, when there's a Sears Friends and Family Sale with 10% off (it may actually be higher for tool storage) which means another $50 off bringing the total cost to you to $450 for the workbench from Sears- by far the best deal as far as I can find. On top of that, if you have a Shop Your Way Rewards card, you will get a ton of points from that purchase which you can then use toward other tools and tool storage in the future at Sears.

Hope this helps,
Techniker

That Beta table looks nice. Made in Spain or Italy, I wonder?

Whoever got one, please post a review or your impressions when it arrives.

Rumor has it that the Beta boxes come out of Asia. There is not COO on most of their product so it is hard to tell.

Sears will be happy to give you a "Shop Your Way Rewards card". In fact they will hound you until you take one. You could probably get one online.

I lost my card but they can look me up with my phone number.

I'm sure they're HF quality, but I might try a set for $10:

Rumor has it that the Beta boxes come out of Asia. There is not COO on most of their product so it is hard to tell.

The beta website states the following:

Worlwide distribution

Under the supervision of the headquarters, that preserve the centralisation of all production and ensure its quality, the six sales subsidiaries and a solid distribution network in over 120 countries worldwide are for Beta a crucial ingredient to meet any local requirements thus maintaing its made in Italy style.

They also list three "production site" as follows:

SOVICO – headquarters and production site

Via Alessandro Volta, 18
20050 Sovico – Milano
Tel. +39.039.20771
Fax. +39.039.2010742
[email protected]
Castiglione d’Adda – production site

Via Incoronata 35
26823 Castiglione d'Adda - Lodi
Tel. +39.0377.900508
Fax. +39.0377.901704
Sulmona – Robur wire rope accessories production site

Zona Industriale – C.da S. Nicola
67039 Sulmona – L’Aquila
Tel. +39.0864.25041
Fax. +39.0864.253132

I sent an inquiry to a Beta dealer in the UK and the response was that Beta boxes were manufactured in Italy. I will respond when I receive the box if there is a COO marked on the packaging.

I can not attest to the accuracy of the post. I have a ratchet and a few body hammers from Beta. Neither the product or the packing had a COO. I look forward to seeing pics of your box and COO info. Even if it is from Asia, it was a great deal at that price. You will be the only kid on the block with one.

I've never heard of Beta Tools before, what has got everyone stirred up about them?
They are high priced tools from an Italian company. Now that they are being cleared out at 50% off or more on Amazon.com, there have been some opportunities to get some good deals. I would consider them an Ok deal at 50% and a pretty good deal when they hit 70%. At full price they were just too expensive considering there is not local warranty support or anything like that.

I have found the quality to be mixed. Some good, some not so good. Search on GJ can get you more info.

Just an update on this set from ebay last weekend. I received mine today. Brand new in the package as described. Very happy, and I fell a very good deal. For those of you that jumped on this you should be getting yours any day now.

Yup got mine today too. I think its a killer deal when you look at the SO website. $132 http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=hand&item_ID=89156&group_ID=767&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog
Picked them up for more than 50% off including shipping when you look at the big picture

Just updated my tool deal blog.

Amazon currently is running a sale on a Makita 6953 1/2-Inch Corded Impact Wrench for $110.01 with free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime (should also be free shipping since it meets the $25 requirement from Amazon). Regular $298.20. Next closest price I can find is $199.99.

Makita 6953 1/2" Impact Wrench- Sale: $110.01

Just an update - got my IR reg/filter/lubricator from Mike at Devildogtools.com today. Only took a couple days and service was good. Would buy from him again...

The item itself seems like a quality piece, too!

For those who bought the IR FRL - do you have any pics of it setup? I currently just have my compressor going to a 10ft hose into a 50ft hose on a reel...not sure i'll see any benefit from this..but i want it! :(

I only rec'd mine yesterday so I haven't set it up yet. However I am planning on running a flex line out of the compressor to a hard line which will be run off this unit. That will make a short trip around the garage and to the hose reel mounted overhead.

Prior to the FRL I will probably have one drop that is not regulated by it, in case I ever use a paint gun/sandblaster/etc, (I don't want lubricant in that branch).

I just came back from Japan a few days ago (yes, I survived the earthquake and all is well in the Tokyo area). These tools are worth a look and at today's exchange rate these are a real bargain now at levelchrome.com. I am not a shill for levelchrome, either. I went to quite a few tool shops in Akihabara plus Tokyu Hands and saw what was offered in Japan. I will post separately what I bought when I was there. Japan is famous for their machine tools and quality of metal fabrication. These are not the lower quality tools of 40 years ago, either. These are highly precision-made and on par with the best small hand tools made in the USA.

All tools are on a major sale at level chrome ( www.levelchrome.com ).
No coupon needed, sale prices are already noted on each item. Not sure how long this will last. Cheers!
