Re: HOT DEAL Index!!Sometimes we act greedy or stupid?

You know how sometimes companies mess up with the pricing, but we take a chance anyways, because sometimes they honor the price?

No not bad at all, esp. for snap on.
But the Wiha 36201 Torx Driver Set at Amaxon is 8 piece,
The snap on is T8, T10,T15, and T20,
The Wila is T6, T8, T10,T15, and T20 plus a T25,
don't know how common the T6 and the T 25 are?
Thanks,
Tony

Already got that set. :)
T8-T20 are more common I believe. I like the Snappy set because the drivers are smaller...or so it seems.

Well these will be good, I have a MAC set from years ago, a few scattered at home and a few scattered at work, and some Popular Mechanic's ones (scattered) here at home.
I'll put the new set at work and try to round up all the Mac's and the Popular Mechanic's ones and put them all together here at home for weekend use.
I guess they say the Wila set is a decent brand too.
Thanks,
Tony

Sears is having an online only 2-day sale on portable tools and miter saws. Started yesterday, ends 3/26, midnight. Not sure if that's Eastern or Central time.

Online Only 2-day Sale! Extra 10% off Portable Power Tools and Miter Saws Sold by Sears!

If you're buying a "C3" branded cordless tool, use coupon code for $5 extra off. Dunno if it will work for all purchases.

SDEALS817 - $5 off $50 Total Purchase.

The normal SEARS2011 code ($5 off $50) doesn't seem to work with this 2-day sale.

For those of you interested in Vaughan...

I was disappointed to see Home Depot no longer carrying their (excellent) prybars and instead carrying the Taiwan made Estwing bars instead. In some parts of the country, Home Depot is carrying almost no Vaughan products anymore. Lowes on the other hand is even worse in that mostly all of their hammers are made in china. Surprisingly though the Lowes in my area is now starting to stock Vaughan hammers and even those nice blue superbars that home depot stopped selling... interesting! I am glad to see that they are still locally available :)

Many Craftsman hammers are made by Vaughn. I suspect that Vaughn makes their USA made pry-bars.

A lot of retailers describe the same set similarly. Some do go so far to say "Snap on Bahco".

Yea, I don't get it. The only thing I can think of is no one buys them, then complains, so the ads stay as is.

That set is appearing everywhere these days: Sears, Amazon and a few dozens of other online retailers.

I've also seen it as "Bahco by Snap on".

It looks like the "Snap on" in the product titles and descriptions comes from the distributor, not the individual retailers. Most retailers include "Bahco" in there, but those that don't may have accidentally omitted it as an oversight.

Homier also sells "Shazzam" branded batteries, teddy bears, and sporting goods. I highly doubt that their web team is tool savy enough to intentionally remove the "Bahco" detail in an attempt to mislead their customers. Then again, I've seen subtler deceptions.

The home depots around here have a full line of vaughn but no sales...seems weird that some are getting rid of them and others are not...

Sears.com is supposed to be having one of those midnight madness things. It says extra 15% off tools, but anything I add to my cart comes up full price no discount at all. Their website gets worse everyday.

Infrared Thermometer with laser guide for $18.98 shipped.

http://www.tanga.com/products/handh...52bdbcd08-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email

Deal is only good till 9PM central 3/28/11. I can't guarantee anything in terms of quality but for $19 I think it is worth the gamble. Even the Harbor Freight one goes for $25 on sale. I have bought from Tanga before and they are a good company to work with.
