Stopped at Lowe's today and most all of the clearance ratchets, sockets, and wrenches are all half off now. I picked up a 1/4" drive roto ratchet for $12 but nothing else caught my eye. The Gearwrench stuff is also half off but the MSRP is so high that the clearance price is just a little higher than the other stores' sales prices.

Any "strings" attached to this offer? Is it one that you have to cancel or they keep sending it at full price?

I've done their offers in the past. No strings but they do ask for business information. I just spam whatever they send me. Earlier this year I scored Automobile and AutoWeek from them.

Thanks for the tip! I stopped by my Lowe's today and picked up that same 1/4" roto ratchets and a couple SAE & Metric hex bit sockets. The bit socket sets were about $12 each. There were still a few things left but the department was already pretty cleared out and I already have too many combo wrenches of all varieties.

There was not much else that was interesting. I wanted one of the ratchets with those funny handles but there were all still full price.

I was at the Lowe's in Sandusky, OH yesterday. This store had 2 in stock (actually 1 left in stock; I purchased a set) of the Kobalt 21 piece, 1/4" drive, flex thru ratchet and socket set (model# 266731) for $17.48 (original price $34.**).

That store also had 1 in stock the Kobalt 1/4" drive, roto ratchet for $12.59. In addition, I saw 1 Kobalt 3/8" drive, roto ratchet for $15.11.

Dave

Update: I called the Mentor, OH Lowes this evening. They have in stock 2 of the Kobalt 21 piece, 1/4" drive, flex thru ratchet and socket set (model# 266731) for $17.48. In addition, this store has 1 left of the Kobalt 3/8" drive, roto ratchet (model# 23738) for $15.11.

This isnt a killer deal, but its a deal IMO. Big motor, all the bells and whistles except the adjustable rotating handle

$163

6538-21 sawzall

* 15.0 amp Milwaukee motor with highest overload protection in the industry; prevents motor burn up / failure
* Constant power technology maintains constant speed under load for unmatched cutting performance
* Patented gear-protecting clutch extends gear and motor life by absorbing high-impact forces caused by sudden blade lock-ups
* Patented counter-balanced mechanism for the smoothest running, lowest vibrating reciprocating saw in the industry
* Variable-speed trigger and dial speed control
This is also an orbital saw per milwaukee's website even though its not listed here.

The damn thing dropped $6 after I bought one, go figure. If I had noticed it right away I would have canceled my order and reordered, but it should be here monday and $6 just isnt worth the extra headache

I know a local guy bought a Snap on box off the truck on sale 50% off - not sure if it's a nation wide promotion but worth looking into if you are shopping for a Snapon box - bought it last week I believe.

It's funny, I was at Lowes last night and bought all of the above mentioned items...

Another Lowe's discount purchase today, a couple of 1/4" wobble extensions for $2.** each, and a set of Torx sockets marked down from I think $29-ish to $13.**, I don't have my receipt in front of me but not too bad. I would have bought the 3/8" wobbles as well but I had just picked up a Craftsman set a few months back on sale. I probably should have those were also in the $2-$3 range if my memory is correct.

My Lowe's had 3/8" and 1/2" drive torque wrenches on sale too. The 3/8" was only a couple bucks off but the 1/2" was $40 or so. This seems to be a pretty good price. The package itself says "assembled in USA of [blah blah blah]" and it looks just like my older SK - same box (included) and everything.

The torque wrenches at my Lowes were on clearance, but the 3/8's was in the $50 and the 1/2 in the $70's. Still good deals and probably close to 30-40% off, but I'll wait till they go a little lower. Lowes is notorious for being aggressive with closeout mark downs. When the 1/2"er is around $50 I'll grab it.

My local Lowe's had Knipex side cutters/dikes for $22 instead of $30 normally. With the USPS mover coupon it goes down to $20. I'm thinking about jumping on that deal. I have every size SO makes though so..

Free quart of Glidden paint www.glidden.com
Only available through tomorrow 5/17 (and while supplies last)

I signed up for mine, says it will take 8-10 weeks for delivery.
I thought I was going to have to print out a form and take it to home depot, but apparently they will mail the quart to me.

I'm not certain, but I think they only offer eggshell finish.

Are Bosch Sawzall blades any good? 25 pack of 6" metal blades for $25 on amazon! Ive had pretty unsatisfactory results with Dewalt metal blades in the past...will probably pick up a set and try it out:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FAMXRS/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Seems like a good deal to me. I use Bosch blades and like them. Don't need 25 blades, but if someone wants to split a pack with me, I could use 6-12. "Heavy Metal," ha ha. Rock Guitar or Plutonium?

Thanks for the heads-up. I ordered a light blue. If it comes, great.

The local Lowes store just cut the price of their Gearwrench sets in half.

They were already on clearance but only took off a few dollars before.

YMMV.

Hope this helps.

(*note to admin: I posted this in the Lowes Closeout thread, but thought it should be here too. If I violated any board protocol, my apologies and please delete this*)

Note: Many of the items at my local Lowes are 50% off, :shocking:BUT THE ASSOCIATES HAVEN'T UPDATED ALL OF THE LABELS:shocking:.

They still have one set each of the metric and SAE x-bar ratcheting sets at my Lowes. Both marked only $10 off ($59 instead of $69). I told the guy, he even checked and verified that the right price is $35, but didn't bother to change them. I had already bought one of each, so I didn't buy them bother. They were still there yesterday, with the wrong price on them.

Especially with the Gearwrench stuff, I would suggest that you get an associate to check the price before you pass on it.

Here is a picture of the SAE set
<img id="original-image" src="http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/736167/736167871299lg.jpg" alt="GearWrench 29-Piece Ratcheting X-Beam Wrench Set" height="384" width="384" border="0" onError="NoProductThumbnail(this);"

and the metric set

<img id="original-image" src="http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/736167/736167873293lg.jpg" alt="GearWrench 29-Piece Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set" height="384" width="384" border="0" onError="NoProductThumbnail(this);"

at a little under $4.50 per wrench, that's pretty sweet. (I think - but I'm a newb)

Yeah, I find that to be the case at Sears a lot too. Anything I'm interested in or waiting on to go on sale, I check on with the price check kiosk. Very often I find prices miss marked. I wish Lowes had one of those because forget trying to find an employee to price check at my local store.

Just an FYI... If your an ITC (inside Track Club) member the 5 drawer red service cart is now $159.00 http://tinyurl.com/6zo65cv
Also an attached coupon.
The 20% coupons WILL WORK on the red 5 drawer cart making it $160 all day long. Just have the cashier scan the coupon. Managers and employees will probably say it wont work because of the new coupon policy but their computer will accept it at check out. It's not that the store employees are the ones who say which coupons will or won't work on certain items. It is if there register or system will accept the coupon on said item.

I did that the other day, they said it would not work but I asked them to scan it anyway and it worked. 160 plus tax is a great deal for that box.
