As long as you're certain it's not the bitholder causing the runout, I'd send it back for an exchange. Given that you used the very same bitholder in another tool and got different results, I'd say you've ruled that out. FWIW, I'm using a bitholder from a Milwaukee shockwave set (not that these sets are built to exacting tolerances). Might want to create a separate thread in the tool discussion about this.

I use a Wera bit holder and I got the same side to side play. There is also the bit holder in and out play.

Please let us know if you find a bit holder that will fit snugly. Frankly speaking this play does annoy me.

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I will try my best to find one. I think I will still keep the drill. Thank you for the responses and I apologize for all those lookin for something to spend your money on:)

What else does Advance Auto have thats good?
I thinking of getting the IR hammer with the free shipping over $75
So I need something worthwhile to make 75

I picked up the Gearwrench metric flex sockets (3/8"dr 10-19mm 6pt) and a couple shop things (paper towels and polish) with the air hammer and BIG35 for a total of under $55 including tax.

Individually, the socket set was $23.82 and the air hammer was $20.84. That is a pretty good deal, imo!

I dug out mine as well, and yes, there's a little play there too. Not a lot, just a bit. I've never had a problem with it except with hex shanked drill bits.

Yeah it is, even at $39.99 before discount it is a good price.
$90.00 and $70.00 shipped on e bay.
Maybe I'll get about 10 cans of brake clean and these sockets if they have them in stock.
Thanks,
Tony

Yeah, they had the Gear Wrench 3/8" Drive Flex Socket Set mm
Part No 80565 in stock,
and I got a T 40 Torx bit I need for Fusions, and 5 cans of the brake clean. Total was 54.28, used the A123 code for $20.00 off, & $2.06 Tax, Total of Only $36.34.
You can't beat Advance if they keep having these promo codes and sale prices.
I know the winter before this past winter, I paid around $100.00 for the 1/4" drive metric Flex Socket Set at Hill international, and thought I was doing good.
Hate to see what Advance has it for.
Thanks,
Tony

Yeah, that A123 code will get you $10.00 off $30.00, and $20.00 off $50.00.
I got these for at home, I don't do a lot of work here, but there handy when you need them. I say Go for it, If they help you out once or twice, it's worth it, and the price sure is right.
I already have a Chrome Snap-On Set at work, but I use my sunnex Impact swivels a lot more.

So I got this order today, and the Air Chisel the other day, and 4 (2&2) of the 5 piece gear wrench sets this month on sale. Well got $10.00 off the second 2 sets this last time, I didn't know about the promo code the first 2 sets I got.
Thanks,
Tony

For Advanced just type all the promo codes in and it will chose the cheapest one for you. There are so many different codes out there its the easiest way.

Not sure if anyone using MSC Industrial Supply,I know there are usually overpriced, but for today only use promo code FAX35, and you get 35% off any regular priced item. Usually do this about once every 10 days.

There's been a small list of items I've been wanting from MSC Industrial so I went and made up my shopping cart, tried out your promo code, and this is what I got...

"Promo code FAX35 applied successfully. Discounts will be applied to eligible items added to cart once order value reaches $349.00."

So I'm guessing it doesn't work unless your order total is higher than what is stated above?

I was hoping to use those Advance Auto Parts discount codes to pick up some new SK stuff. Even with the discounts and free shipping the price is outrageous.

Haha ya you guys, i was going to buy the IR air hammer but decided to buy a bunch of tools from AAP instead.

Made a big order for around 100$ drooped it to about 60, then someone mentioned the SAE swivel sockets too and never saw them so just placed another order for 25$ after discounts.

Been wanting some ratchets that were more then 32 tooth so found the 3/8" and 12" Gear Wrench 60 tooth ratchets on AAP and swooped those up.
Way cheaper then getting the Craftsman ones, and lower profile to boot.

To anyone looking on advance auto for the flex sockets, it looks like the SK one that comes up if you search "flex socket 3/8" is actually just for one 3/8" (fastener size, not drive size) SK flex socket. It does not appear to be for a set of 3/8 flex sockets. The set that people seem to be talking about is the gearwrench set for $34.99 each.

At Advanced. None of the Knipex, SK, Wilton and a lot of OTC and many other brads are actually available. Once you put them in you cart and chose ship to home (pick up at store is unavailable) it will come back and tell you "Item not available or delivery" So don't waist you time browsing too much.

I thought i found a great deal on a Wilton vise, i guess it was to good to be true.

Finally pulled the trigger at AAP.
GearWrench Flex metric sockets: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__10044816-P_N3409B_T|GRP2062____
GearWrench 5-piece metric ratcheting wrenches: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__9010401-P_N3417_T|GRP2078____
GearWrench 5-piece SAE ratcheting wrenches: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__9010399-P_N3417_T|GRP2078____
Scott Shop Towels (box):
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__6140054-P_N3290_T|GRP2074____
Dorman cotter pins (local store only had one):
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__3490270-P_N4006D_A|GRP2037____
Dorman 25-pack of E-clips (2 of them):
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__3490343-P_N3120C_A|GRP2037____

BIG35 coupon took $35 off $85.

Total: $50.03, plus MA tax=$53.16

Paid $8.82 per set of wrenches, $8.23 for the shop towels, and $23.53 for the swivel metric sockets, $0.17 for the cotter pins, and $0.46 for the 50 E-clips.

Not too shabby. I placed a separate order for the Air hammer, $25+tax, not quite as good, but I didn't find anything else I could use to pad the order up to get a better percentage off. Picking it all up tomorrow on my way up to Boston.

I am trying to get my second AAP to go through with the GW flex sockets and some other stuff. Picked up the IR air chisel yesterday - thanks to everyone for that. Whats the procedure when it says not available or call store when you were just there and know there is pleanty in stock. I cant provide the checkout page any zip code around me that will let me get the 1.88 brake cleaner, but I know my store has 6 cases plus whats on the self. Is there a default code or proceedure to follow. Or, FWIW, sombody please give me a zip from anywere that aknowlages the Brake cleaner in stock so I can compleate the purchase and then Ill just try to see if theyl let me get it at my store when I pick up the other items. Any sugestions appreciated.

PS I used "big35" for 35 off of 85 yesterday for 41%. Today I am trying to use "DEALIO" which will give you 40 off of 100 for 40%

PPS Any other IR air tools which stand out as exceptionally good deals as the chisel? Pass any along please.

Thanks- Mike

I was definitely talking about the Gearwrench ones. They were originally $3x.** and the codes knocked them down to around $20.

Anytime!

True, but keep checking. The GW flex sockets were that way for a couple months before they actually started showing up. They must add things to the system in preparation for actually stocking them.

Seems like there are many Advance Auto Parts promo codes.

I've found that BITOG usually has a thread with up-to-date AAP codes. That is where I usually find them. I've been using some of these for a long time. I hope they don't go away for good anytime soon.
