My advance had larger GW on clearance. Got the 24mm for 9.95 and the 1" for 10.95. Along with 2 5 piece metric sets, a 13/16, and 21 cans of brake clean. 21 was just enough for $85, the best discount. The 24, and the 1 I got in store. All the rest was about $55 out the door. Awesome deal.

Fellow Garage Journal Members,

For what its worth: The Sears Essentials store in Spring Valley, CA
[935 Sweetwater Rd
Spring Valley, CA 91977]
is currently having a clearance sale in the process of converting back to a K-Mart. Tools are anywhere from 20-40% off. Gearwrench ratchets were 20% off.

Good luck finding deals!:)

Why not order online for in store pick up?

Im not that interested in it, but for shits and giggles I checked all my local stores. None were available, says it comes from the warehouse. Giving the price Im sure its the same everywhere.

I think if it's "online only" it won't allow store pick up.
I also checked all my local stores and it says "unavailable"

I tried this a long time ago with a pliers set that was on sale online. All local stores said "unavailable" but when I went to the actual store I saw them on the shelves. I took it to the register but the sale price wasn't ringing up. That's when I found out they don't match the online price.

Is this a good set? I've been looking for a quality SAE 1/4 set. I've never owned SK before, my dad has some older tools that are SK but no new ones.

A couple of years ago I bought the larger set on EBay:
-SAE Shallow
-SAE Deep
-Metric Shallow
-Metric Deep

and paid about $100. So at ~$30.00 it's not a bad deal. A large portion of my tools are SK. They have a lifetime replacement guarantee (They don't honor it on SK-Wayne) but you need to find a dealer in your area that carries them. As far as quality... I think I've busted two or three sockets in the 30 years that I've owned any of my set and that's because I was abusing them.

I have all SK tools, most of them from the early 60's. That's gotta say something. Used them everyday of my working life as a body man / fabricator. Very few broken tools.

Lowe's has General Tools Infrared Thermometer for $9.98 with free store pickup. It is normally $40.

^^^^ The link comes up as $19.98, is there an additional code necessary?

Works for me too - maybe not at his local store?

Thanks for the link - that's even cheaper than HF.

Looks like a regional price. When I looked at it, it was $19.98, changed to another store (Florence, SC like the OP) and it went down to $9.98.

I just went and picked one up because lowes was on my way home and I got it for $9.98 and got my 10% military discount on top of that. Dealextreme has one that is very similar and it even cost more than the one from lowes. This is by far the cheapest I have found a infrared thermo for anywhere. Like said above it is even cheaper than the cheapest harbor freight one.

Yeah my home location showed $19.98, closer to my work showed $9.98. It's store dependent for whatever reason.

It's not even regional. Of six stores in my area, three are $9.98 and three are $19.98.

I may buy one just for fun.

If anyone is a fan of Wera, Amazon right now has some pretty nice discounts on almost all of their screwdriver sets.

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a bunch from the Maple Shade, NJ store to give to coworkers because we use these a lot (and wind up giving them away on jobsites). They had one at the register for some one else and two orders for the same item came in while I was waiting for them to pull mine.

That is the power of GJ Nation and thanks to the HOT DEAL Index!

I've had that same set in my wish list for at least 6 months now. Finally went on sale some.

Thanks for the heads-up , archirelic.
