I received the weekend ad in the mail but was at the store yesterday and today and they had the circular on the counter.

BIN was $350. I figured I don't need all of what's in there, so I'd try to snag it for what the hex bits are worth to me. (I've already got the torx drivers.)

Bid was like 150-175 or something and the BIN was still valid. BIN was 350 like Sokoloff said. Oh well, I tried :spit:

BIN is no longer available on this, someone bid on it.

It's not the same as it used to be, people can still bid and BIN stays valid, I am not sure until when or what the rules are now :headscrat

Not exactly a tool, but I'm sure a lot of you would be interested:

Purolator PureONE oil filters - As low as $.33 each + tax @ Advance Auto + MIR

These are on sale for $5 each. If you buy 3, and use code BIG5, it will knock the price down to $10 (3 @ $3.33/each). After the MIR, the price is $1 for 3 ($.33 each!) It's free store pick-up, and you'll have to pay tax. Not a bad price on these filters. Very high quality.

Get a $9 rebate HERE

Can't get the BIG5 code to work. Might have to go with the 20% off

Or maybe use BIG15, to get $15 off of a $40 purchase, which amounts to 37.5% off. The rebate form says the original receipt is required, so maybe round out the purchase with something that you wouldn't possibly need to return, like antifreeze or something.

Question is, will they honor a printed out receipt from an online purchase? I'm not sure you get a register receipt with an in-store pick-up...

They should honor the online receipt. If not, I received a register receipt when I picked up my Gearwrench Flex Sockets a couple weeks ago and that was an online order. You could always request a duplicate receipt at pick up as well.

I confused the heck out of them once when I tried to return an item that I bought online for store pickup...they ended up refunding me the regular store price :scared:

You should receive a regular store printed receipt when you pick up your items in the store, should you need to return them or use it for rebate purposes. The online system and store systems are not linked, meaning that the store will have no record of your purchase after the sale like they normally would. Your online receipt doesn't help them much in the case of returns. They once refunded me full price for an item because I could not produce the receipt but I give them tons of business so it was not a big deal.

I would NOT send in an online receipt to a rebate company, that's asking for trouble. That printout is to prove to advance you paid for the item so that you may pick it up. Your real receipt is printed at pickup and looks like all the other receipts just as if you bought it in store. Send this to the rebate company. A third party rebate company is going to throw out anything they don't recognize, and an online printout is sure to be tossed.

Interesting, my stores are different. They have special sales slips with barcodes that they stick on the merchandise, if i need to return an item they just scan that barcode punch a few keys and the online transaction is refunded. Similarly i can use my email confirmation as a sales receipt if i remove/lose the stuck on one.

That's convenient, I just receive one register receipt. I still advise that no one try to send in an online printed receipt for a rebate.

I had been looking at the smaller OTC gland nut wrench, part number 7463 for a while and never could find one at a decent price. For whatever reason they're now available a number of places (Tooltopia, Amazon, eBay, etc.) starting at a little more than $15.00. I just received one today--nicely made in the USA.

I bought the large fender protector. I think it will be too big for all of my vehicles, but it is better than nothing. The small ones are sold out. Thanks for the notice.

Thanks for the OSH coupon SCscoutguy.

I needed something from OSH that wasn't $30 so I looked around and found Footprint brand chisels on deep discount.
Rubbery type handle with a metal striking cap.

1/4" chisel was $9.49 Now $2.85
1-1/2" was 12.99 Now 3.90
1/2" was 9.49 Now 2.85 (other sizes were available)

Says that these are made in Sheffield, England (there was a set of chisels that said made in China - but these individual chisels were made in Sheffield).

I'd never heard of Footprint tools so I checked them out on the internet. Appears to be a very old company making reasonably priced quality tools. Not high end for sure but good. I'm guessing Stanley might be a good comparison.

Looks like they ran into financial trouble in 2009 due to a downturn in the economy. Not sure if they are still in business or bought by another company using their name

Anyway, since they have a reputation of decent quality, thought I'd head back and get the other available sizes. At that price, can't go wrong.

I have 3 of the Sheffield chisels and couldn't be happier. They work well and hold an edge. I got mine on a deal as well.

2 of them are on the left, just below the Stanley Fat Max (another British made).

I personally don't see 1 or 2 OT posts as a problem.
Unless it gets to a "Whole Big Thing" like with the files, then they started a new thread just about the files.
Just saying............
Tks,
Tony

I don't mind a little here or there either but a whole page of "yeah I bought that too" and jokes about gland nuts and **** gets old fast.
