Said and done. I wouldnt have jumped on it but I dont have any standard size gearwrenches and thats not a bad price on a set of reversables...I dont think its a $200 set though....edit holy **** those are over $200....gearwrenches are way cheaper! Thanks for the steal
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...21x00003a&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=00983572000P and this set doesnt have the 5/16

Congrats, I'm happy another forum member was able to get them.

Gearwrenches are way cheaper because they're made in China... the wrenches I linked are some of the only USA made ratcheting combos available... if it was in my budget, I'd gladly pay $200 a set for that purty USA stamp, but I'm much rather pay Chinese prices for American tools if possible.

They're expensive, but not completely out of line with any other quality USA combo wrench set. Either way, a set of these for cheaper than a set of Gearwrench, plus the bonus 5/16" (which costs $25 or so just by itself), is one heck of a deal.

Those were an excellent deal. I paid $200 for both the SAE & metric sets, which is a good deal on it's own. These replaced the GW & Cman sets that I had.

You mean $200.00 for each set, or $200.00 for both sets?

I was tempted to do the buy it now for $35.00, (I had time)
But I really don't use SAE all that much.
And I do have the Gear Wrench SAE set from Advance when they were on sale.

What is the deal on BIN. I thought once a bid was places, (as there were 2 or 3 bids,) The BIN was no longer an option.

i cant remember if its customizable by the seller but once the auction price hits a threshold then the BIN disappears. Its done so someones $10 bid doesnt remove a $100 BIN price that someone else may be interested in.

Buy It Now disappears when the reserve is met, or once any bid is placed if there is no reserve.

Now, about the General Tools Center Punches I posted earlier.. I received my shipment from Tool King today.. What I got were two Stanley Fat Max laser levels, not two center punches. The levels were on sale for $9.99. One of the levels doesn't even work.

We'll see if Tool King ships me my punches or not.. I'm guessing not as they're OOS now.

For those of you who do receive your center punches, are the USA made for that price, or China?

$200 for both sets. I have some comparison images of the Cman and Armstrong. Shoot me a PM and I'll email them to you.

I didn't buy those Armstrongs because I have a boatload of Gearwrench. So what is the "Hot Deal" here? Are they any better than the GW's I have now?

They just seem overpriced to me.

p.s. I'm trying out a new Avatar, give me some Feedback!

I had Snake Plissken, but he doesn't scare anybody anymore!

Omg! Of course they are better than Gearwrench. That's like asking if Snap-on is better than gearwrench. Gearwrench isn't even that good to begin with, it is just cheap.

I got about 4+ sets of each the wrenches and the sockets over the past month or so. He had some today at $20 for sockets and $30 for wrenches. He probablywill combine shipping, did for me. The sockets have the armstrong rails. I had mentioned this guy before and no one paid any attention.
Most of the ratcheting wrenches are fine but a few out of the 32+ I got are somewhat tight, mainly the 9/16." He keeps putting up more. I am wondering if they are seconds or something.

Your new avatar evokes many "r" words, the least of which is "rude".
You asked for it.

I think MOST people should avoid using self-portraits as their avatar, and in YOUR case this is especially true. :)

Steve

Hmmm,
I've read your Wilton thread and respect your posts. I'm gonna seriously mull over your advice here...

:bounce:

Perhaps just a simple pic of my wife and my Girfriend as my Avatar:

For some reason when I add myself to the picture, I'm not sure it looks better...

Sears is having 50% off the craftsman 7-pc locking flex wrench sets again.

Normally 124.99 down to 62.49. Can use coupon sears2011 for 5 bux off.

Probably only a good deal if you get the USA made sets that are left.

NEW MOONS, anyone? Half moons, anyway. Good deal if you live near Dallas. The Sears parts and repair center on Miller Rd in Garland had these Gearwrench sets on clearance for $32.49. They had (2) SAE and (1) metric set left. Happy hunting.

craftsman-professional-12-dual-bevel-sliding-compound-miter-saw-21221.jpg
Craftsman Professional 12in dual bevel sliding compound miter saw, $440 at Sears.com, regularly $600. (27% off)

I'm not much of a woodworker and I don't put much time into cutting wood myself, but my father is very much a happy hobbyist and it was time to get him something new. His birthday has just passed and his old Ryobi 10in 14A chop saw was looking a little worn in the cord and it's really not big enough for how he tries to use it; it's half as old as I am so we talked about it and found him an upgrade. There are other, slightly more humble saws on sale at Sears right now, but the deal on the top end unit was too good to pass. You can apply coupon codes like SEARS5OFF50 but only during checkout; 15% off tools sale does not apply.

And no worries on the old Ryobi, once I source a proper bushing for the cord, I'll get on replacing that and the brushes at my leisure to refurbish the old saw. It might be too small for my dad, but it'll be of some good somewhere.

OK I brought them.
Already have the Gearwrench SAE 5 piece set here from Auto Zone,
:dunno:

Mine arrived today and these are nice. They really remind me of a tool truck brand with their square edges. I havent tried them on any fasteners yet, but Im happy with them already

1/2", 3/8" & 1/4" socket holders, 99.9 cents each at the 99 Cents store in Southern California. These are made in China - where else. They have the spring load ball to hold the sockets in. They are similar to the Harbor Freight ones but less expensive http://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-14-38-and-12-socket-rail-set-68101.html . How cheap can you get?
