Chicago Latrobe 150 Series Black Oxide Jobber Length Drill Set with Metal Case, Inch, 115-piece, 1/16" - 1/2" in 1/64" increments

$238.07, FSSS eligible. Nowhere near as good a deal as the Precision Twist set a couple weeks ago, but still about 50% off other sources.

Currently out of stock, but allows you to buy on backorder.

Slickdeals:

What is it?

I don't know, but it's cheap, so I HAVE to buy it.

Do you need it?

No. What does that have to do with anything?

I check the hot deals thread here almost every time I visit the forum, but if you hang around in the generic deals forums you will buy stuff you don't need. I only search them when I want some specific thing.

not sure if anybody is interested, but those aforementioned Craftsman 1/2 in drive Easy Read Deep sets are back down to $21.99. Put a couple in your cart + something else to get up to $50 and use Sears2011 to get $5 off $50.

I saw these listed as $17.99 a couple days ago (people also posted here). The price raised a little.

Ordered the above online at 6am this morning and I had an email within a half hour of their opening. They're in the trunk now rattling around. Actually, they have a nice mini molded clip rack they come in. Snug!

The regular depth ones are still $17.99. Just FYI.

Ya, I saw that, but the % off sale price is much less. I'm in a quandry as far as how to go about replacing my **** hand tools with something halfway decent. That is, whether or not to piece it together by buying stuff like this or wait for a set to go on sale.

Right now, only the 1/2 deep sockets that I got at $17.99 via this sale and one 1/2 ratchet that I've had for 25 years are any good. 90% of the rest of my stuff is ****..but that is going to change :)

The blades came undone on mine. The tips are like the regular Klein too.

I like the feel of those klein drivers in my hand a lot, but the plastic under the rubber seems prone to chipping/cracking and the tips are not very durable. On the upside I found the fit of the phillips bit to be very good in the screws I tried it on... just don't let it cam out...

C-man Pro 3 pc. Precision Mini Pliers set. Item # 945673 @ $7.19 I bought these today. I've used them before and think there worth it. They usually have a four pack of them on Black Friday for around $20 or so.

Link: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...ype=SKIP_LEVEL&prop17=945673&isABTestAvl=true

Looks like a good deal... nice find.

That craftsman 299pc / $295 with free ship using visa is a great deal. From a thread last March, it looks like people were paying $308 + tax + $22 shipping.

It would solve the 6pt vs. 12pt debate, wouldn't it?

weldfabulous.com use to put their Metabo disc on sale every once in awhile. I wanna say a box of 50 was around $50 for their 5" version. Just check every now and then.

Amazon has some decent deals on Norton 5 packs.

I checked, but all the Pferd deals are gone.

I have one of these, missed out on when Lowes had one for $10, but this one is great. Instant read, updates as long as you hold the trigger, laser sight and backlight you can independently turn off, instant conversion from °C to °F. I tested it vs a Milwaukee two-wire temp probe I got a year ago, this one is just as accurate on solid surfaces and way faster. Two-wire still holds the edge for liquids and gasses, but it's great to have both tools.

Darn, I missed out. Probably a good thing though, as I already have modest Craftsman socket set at home, albeit they aren't the easy read models.

myke

Same here. I have a somewhat small Craftsman set I bought about 20 years ago along with various Kobalt, Harbor Freight, etc sockets I have accumulated over the years. This would have been a nice set to have and get rid of all my mix matched stuff. I guess I get to keep $300 in the bank for now. :)

IMO get some Metabo or Sait cut off wheels... once you try them you will never go back. I have a stack of Dewalt cut off wheels that have been collecting dust for a couple years since I discovered how nice the Metabo & Sait were. They last longer, cut faster, and will not self destruct on a whim like the Dewalt ones will.

Quick Amazon search turned up a box of 100 for $126, so at $1.25 each it makes the Dewalt at the Big Box for $3 seem like a crime.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001ASDTIQ/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Also pick up some Sait grinding wheels, cant beat them.
