Craftsman 4 pc. Inch Open End Ratcheting Wrench Set

Craftsman 4 pc. Metric Open End Ratcheting Wrench Set

Both these sets are on sale for $14.99 each and offer free store pickup (Regular is $24.99). There is a $5 off $50 code "SBOO" or there are 10% off codes in those post office moving packs (the ones with the Lowes coupons). You can also pick up Sears gift cards and codes at a slight discount on eBay or GiftCardGranny.com. I have been wanting to try these out, and for two sets out the door under $30, I had to go for it. I got a confirmation email, and I'll be picking them up tomorrow. Just thought I'd share.

Where are the super coupons? I didn't see them on that link
Third link and another added.
thanks for those coupons! i wish harbor freight would keep changing up the free stuff.
No problem!

They might change the freebies in November.

I usually get an email from an HF marketer with new coupons every so often. When I ordered a multi-tool to break down about 2 months ago, I also ordered a freebie multi-meter.

Thanks for the heads up ;)

I have a set of the metrics listed in the link.

Fit and finish is pretty good, but function is not what I hoped.

The whole lever in the open end thing makes it difficult to get a good purchase on a fastener.

Maybe I'm using them wrong, but the effort savings from a ratchet isn't there in the same sense as box ratcheting wrenches.

In short, first time I used one I was disappointed and now I don't use them at all.

I got the set for $14.99 on a promo and with gas prices being what they are these weren't worth the drive to return them

I really hope you have better luck with them than I have. The Sears online reviews are pretty much split, love them or hate them. Like I said, I may be using them wrong, but a wrench is a wrench...:headscrat

you don't want to use those wrenches for breaking stuff free or final tightening they are good for say trans lines and things of that nature where you want a bit more speed but a regular gearwrench type wrench will not work

Is $9.98 for Kobalt 6 pc (sae or metric)stubby set worth it? lowes.com, price may depend on location $10 for Dallas area.

A lot of Kobalt's stuff just switched from USA made to Taiwan/China. I understand that some stuff from Taiwan can be OK, but I doubt that about the Chinese stuff.

For $10, I'd get a set, as they still have a guarantee. I'm a weekend warrior, though...if i used them regularly, i'd pass.

I bought 1 of each of these sets...used them last night. Ratchets work smooth and the quick realase is a nice feature. What I really like is the laser etched size and color coding, makes it easy to find the right size.

Go to the post office and pick up a movers package kit. 10% Lowes coupon discount in there. You have to ask the guy in counter for it, its not the online brochure they have.

Hope it helps. I have "moved" a lot recently. So did my roomate for when you want another coupon. Sometimes they are $10 off $50 purchase instead.

Wish I knew, I look around from time to time on ebay or swap meets, but so far I have been buying Painless wire from which ever vendor has what I need shipped the cheapest.

A dozen spools of TXL wire would not be cheap, and I do enough in the engine compartment that the 140F rated "hookup" wire isn't much use, but this place "looks" interesting.

http://www.oemsurplus911.com/calterm/calwire.htm

Here is a snip from another forum on wire.

Not all wire is created equal. For an automotive application, you shouldn't just buy any plain old wire. I would recommend a cross linked insulated wire, commonly GXL or TXL.
From Waytek:
"The SXL has a standard wall jacket, while the GXL has a thin wall jacket
and the TXL has an extra thin jacket. Because of its ability to withstand high
temperatures, all three are typically used in high temperature areas such as
engine compartments."
Painless and other harness manufactures use cross linked, and Painless uses TXL. Relative cost is GXL cheapest, TXL in the middle, SXL most expensive. If space is a concern, use TXL. All will function the same. You can buy Painless TXL in your quantities from any Painless seller or Summit, but it is nearly three times as expensive.

Other considerations: Pico brand wire spools available at some auto parts stores, such as Car Quest, (though I don't know if it is cross linked) are at your quantities and is very good wire. Summit sells the same stuff under their Summit brand in 100' spools. I am not real positive on the stuff you get from Napa (though I don't think there is anything wrong with it except that the insulation is very thick). Do not buy wire from an electronics supply house, as it is not intended for automotive or harsh conditions.
