Those Craftsman 309 pc mechanics tool sets are back on sale for $199 for Craftsman club members. I missed the last time they were this price. Page shows sale price of $249.99, but in the cart, another $50 comes off. Sears 2011 takes off another $5, or a 10% movers coupon from the post office would be even better.

I was just at Lowes, and they had the Kobalt 40 piece 3/8ths socket sets for $24.99. I picked up a set to throw in the truck box, they seem fairly descent for that price. Oh and the 40 pieces isnt taken up by allen keys and screwdriver bits like the sears sets. Its all sockets, one extention, and a ratchet.
Store on my way home sold out. Stopped by my local store, three in stock, but at 245. The csr really tried, confirmed the price at the other store. Called the manager, he said he couldn't help but that they would probably be clearancing them too since everyone else is.
Too bad. I have been looking and looking for a deal on a back box like that.

Killer deal... I just called my folks because they were asking about Christmas/Birthday this year (two days apart for me), there's one of these waiting in the back of my mom's minivan now. They had some extra cash on their HD card so they were trying to get me to pick something from there.
Got it at the N.Upland location in So-Cal. Most of the stores that had them for that price were in the LA area. My local HD wants $245 for the same box.
They live across town and I'm really busy with work, but I'm looking forward to getting it when I can.
I've been hunting CL for one under $100 for about a year, and they all come up beat to heck from a painter's truck, rainbow colored. Anyone with a decent one wants almost what they cost new.

I picked one up as well. Nice set but almost all sockets are 12 point. Either way for $25.00 hard to go wrong to throw in the car when you need it.

Lowes Master Forge 5-Burner Gas Grill on clearance at select stores for as low as $82 (reg. $500). Very YMMV. Some stores around me showing $399 while others are down to $162 but they were OOS. My company bought one of these on clearance for $329 a few weeks ago. Worked beautifully cooking up a couple hundred burgers; I was impressed.

Actually, the sale looked about not much different than the past few years' sales.
That Dewalt drill is a $100 holiday special at many retailers every year, and the Porter Cable set, while new for this year, looks to be a Lowes exclusive that was modified from a 2-battery Li-ion combo.
In-store there are additional holiday deals that I'll try to consolidate as well. But those will be available from around now through Christmas.

Not really. Most of the same stuff. Ladder, shop vac, flashlight, drill, etc.
The Brinkman LED was the same price last year BUT they also had the 3D version for that price. If they only do the 2D this year, that deal is certainly no big deal.
The Dewalt NiCad drills are already stacked up in Lowes stores, as well as many others. It is really easy to see what they will be "blowing out" this year.
MANY of this years deals are already in stores and priced at the BF sale price, especially the $9.99 things.

Does anyone know the current 'trick' to get Amazon to show 70% off in any category? It used to be you could just add the parameter to the URL, but now they've obfuscated their parameters and it isn't obvious which one handles the discount anymore.....
