A123 doesn't work. I tried and tried but the discount wouldn't show up. I talked to tech support and they told me to read the item description again.

Worked for me. Just had to add some valve stem caps to get me over the $50 minimum to qualify for the discount. Got it for $30.

As Stuey said, they are NiCd. BUT, they are 2.4 XRP batteries. What that means is that they will put out the exact same power as the 2.4 Li-Ion. The Li-Ion will be lighter and will give full (almost) power until dead.

You CAN use Li-Ion batteries in these tools and you can also charge them.

For $199, this is a screaming good deal.

It's not in the checkout process. There's a tab on the site near the top that says something like "free tools." There's also one for their raffle.

I don't know if there is a link, I was walking around in the actual store, and they had these Craftsman chrome 11 pc metric or sae USA made socket sets 3/8 drive on one of the end caps with some other stuff. They were marked $4.99 or $4, I forget which, said price was good until 11/21 I think it was. They are not laser etched; just the normal engraving.

I was going to get them right then, but I wanted to look at some of those Kobalt sets from Lowes first to see which would better meet my needs for 'spares'.

Hell of a deal!
