Ordered a 56" masterforce tool box for $529 yesterday but they let me use a Lowes 10 percent off coupon so I got it for $475!

holy cow for the 56" box. Thats a steal.

How do they match or accept a coupon for another item from another store?

I understand price matching and/or beating by 10% and all that jazz, and on same items at different stores etc...

edit: oh it was just a rebate coupon not a product coupon ok

MSRP is only $31, seems they always sell for $16-17ish. Note that's the 38-tooth for sale, not the 60-tooth.

Nice Taiwan-made tool at a good price, but probably similar to Pro-Grade/Kobalt/Stanley's Taiwan variants/etc. you can purchase and get serviced locally?

Now see, I read it and thought it was the 60-tooth and brought it.
I really don't need another 3/8" standard tooth ratchet.

The Ad is somewhat deceiving.

Edit,
I sent an e mail asking to be let out of the sale, I have/had not payed yet.
Told him the Ad was deceiving.
I mean it's only $13.00 but still,

I think they meant "3/8 FINE TOOTH..."

Sloppy ad, either SHOUTING GUY was in a hurry, or Engrish is a second language... :lol_hitti

Menards accepts competitors coupons up to 10 percent off. They typically don't allow for use in sales but it doesn't hurt to try!

So is Car and Driver and Road and Track. Just placed my order. That's like one year for the cost of one issue on the newsstand.

my thoughts exactly. im a reader so 5 bucks for a year of reading anything is worth it to me.

edit: damn, some good deals on magazines. grabbed 1 year (42 issues) of the new yorker for $5 and a year of harpers for $9 to go along with my pop science for 5. find a wall street journal daily subscription for cheap and im set with reading material for a while.

The model he has for sale is the course tooth model. The 60 tooth version doesn't have a quick release.

It appears to did a copy/paste of a bunch of info for different ratchets. But, the one pictured is the course tooth.

Pretty smoking deal. Havent seen China in these sets yet, usually the packages are red/black with Made in USA on them. They dont say "Professional" in the advert but they are indeed the Pro wrenches.

are these longer than the raised panel ones? I apologize if this has been covered before, but the 'professional' set I saw in store that was, indeed, longer, didn't come in a package like that.

They are quite a bit longer. Those are the very same Professional wrenches you were looking at in the store, simply put into a module package. If those wrenches were flipped over you'd see the "Professional" on the back. Exact same wrenches. For just over $25 per set its a great deal for someone in need of a really nice set of combo wrenches.

ok...thanks very much!!...i don't really need the standard, but I think the professionals only come in the set...or, if they don't, the deal isn't so good for just the metric...

I got a nice letter back from him, He is claiming it is the 60 tooth, But I don't think it is.
First off... We are more then happy to refund your your money and cancel the sale. That being said, we are a little confused on the deceiving part? The description is the exact description out of the JH Williams catalog. The ratchet offers everything that we put in the description. You state you are looking for a fine 60 tooth, well that is what this ratchet is. it is an ultra-fine 60 tooth model with 6 deg tooth action with narrow pear head. If that is what you are looking for this is the exact ratchet. If for any reason you are still not happy, message us back and we will get you yoru money refunded and we will cancel the order. Lasly, we did not try to make our add look deceiving. We have been on e-bay for about two years and have sold over 2500 items with no negative feedback. We take great pride in providing our customers a positive experience, so once again if we were deceiving we apologize we were not trying to be. Have a wonderful Sunday and let us know if you still would like to cancel.

The 9pc Metric sets alone were around $50 so if you dont mind selling off the STD set for what ever you can get [probably over $20] its still easily the cheapest price you'll find per wrench.

I didn't closely read the description because I already knew the specs for this ratchet. Unless the picture is wrong, the seller has the 38-tooth model.

The seller clearly copy/pasted wrong info for this ratchet. Here's what they wrote:

NEW JH WILLIAMS QUICK RELEASE RATCHET

WILLIAMS # 31001

38 TOOTH QUICK-RELEASE RATCHET

7-3/4" LENGTH

BALL AND SPRING RETENTION

ULTRA-FINE 60 TOOTH MODEL OFFERS 6 DEG TOOTH ACTION IN A NARROW PEAR HEAD

UNIQUE FINGER-FIT HANDLES TO PROVIDE A COMFORTABLE, NON-SLIP GRIP AND EXTRA TURNING POWER

NARROW PEAR-SHAPED HEADS FOR ACCESS INTO CONFINED WORK AREAS

HIGH POLISHED CHROME FINISH FOR EASY CLEANING

UNIQUE COMBINATION 3/8" X 1/2" DRIVE FLEX HANDLE OFFERS CONVENIENCE OF BOTH DRIVE SIZES ON ONE HANDLE

The description claims it's both 38 and 60 tooth. Plus it says it has a "UNIQUE COMBINATION 3/8" X 1/2" DRIVE FLEX HANDLE OFFERS CONVENIENCE OF BOTH DRIVE SIZES ON ONE HANDLE." I don't even know what that it from.

I still think this is a good deal for the 38 tooth ratchet, but the seller clearly has no idea WTF they're talking about.

I used to have one of the 60-tooth models, part number 31011. It doesn't have a quick release. Here's the item at toolsdelivered.com

any thoughts on the auto renewal on the $5 subs on these?

I just purchased some mag subscriptions and received an email confirming the subscriptions. Close to the bottom of the email was a link to the Magazine Subscription Manager where I was able to cancel the Auto Renewal.

1. Here's some info on them - http://toolguyd.com/2011/10/craftsman-4v-cordless-tools/ that I put together when the tools first came out in October.

2. Most of these tools were sold out two days ago.

3. I picked up 3 of the screwdriver + cutter combos. They're okay, but I'd be fooling myself if I thought they were worth more than $20. Also bought a flashlight. It's okay, nothing special.

4. Why are they 75%-off less than 8 weeks since the line launched?

My local Lowes had the Dewalt 3 piece 12V Max set(drill, impact, driver, 2 batteries/charger/bag) and a promotion that lets you choose an extra battery of flashlight($49) for $199. The kit was normally $249 without the extra battery or light.

With the production of the other sets previously containing Craftsman Professional having been sent overseas, they might be starting to clear out all of the NOS USA-made sets. These module sets are the last that I know of that contain the USA-made wrenches stamped "Professional".

Unless you don't have any Sears near you, I'd highly recommend re-ordering using the in store pickup option. I'm a big fan of Sears, but a lot of folks here have had orders cancelled with no explanation. If it turns out that there are no more sets in the warehouse and they're being discontinued, you'll have missed the sale.

Just a thought.

actually, that is what I chose. I could re-order and choose to have it shipped and not have a delay. Perhaps I should do that?

For anyone wanting the hex keys, Bondus claims their steel is 20% stronger than the moly-chrome that Wiha uses. They are US made and right around the same price as the Wiha's on super sale.

I have a set of Bondus ball drivers that I have used daily at work for years. They are wonderfull. I have put serious torque on the smaller (2mm) sizes and never stripped or broke one yet. I love when people torque small fasteners to 1000 ft/lbs.
