I noticed Home Depot has 16 gallon Rigid shop vacs for $49.99, in store. That's a VERY good deal if it's the same 16 gal as the one I bought over the summer.
Model WD1637 ? It's been $50 since a week before BF. Before that, it wasn't around.

Wait, you used a HF coupon at Home Depot?

Home Depot accepts competitor coupons.

*sometimes*, depending on whether the coupon is printed or personalized to you, and if they consider the store a valid competitor.

This, I work at Lowes and we wouldn't match a 20% coupon ever. Atleast at my store, you'd probably have a hard time trying to get someone who even knows who Harbor Freight is at my store to vouch we should match 10% of it.

Yeah most HDs and Lowe's don't but some don't enforce the corporate policy correctly. Never hurts to try but don't count on it.

I didn't consider the model numbers. I saw 16 gallon and the demo model and figured, "Wow, good deal."

Edit: While both sell tools, I would've never considered using a HF coupon at HD. The selection is vastly different.

Menards is the same way. Their official policy is they accept competitor coupons with the wording on the coupon. But Lowes 10% coupons, which work on every deal/sale/clearance item Lowes has, you cannot use at Menards with anything on sale or on clearance. Some stores seem to let it slip now and then but most times they won't.

Just received my CMan Pro 18 pc set. I'm pretty confused as to why some of you were quoted 30+ day wait.

Although... those were ship-to-home orders, weren't they? Mine was in-store pickup (even though my store didn't have them).

Sears must have 2 different "stocks" of inventory that they don't intermingle?

Very odd.

a half a second to skim past it.

Some people, me included, have an automatic email alert set up on this thread. So, for those that only check this thread once per day it is in fact a few extra seconds to skim past. For those that like to make sure they do not miss a deal it means multiple check ins throughout the day for no good reason. Keep in mind, the best deals in this thread have only lasted for hours or even minutes. The Bosch drill/driver deal for $91 posted by Stuey was good for less than 2 hours.

I am not bitching. Just trying to let you understand where others are coming from.

Just so I keep with the intent of the thread:

Does everyone know about the tool of the day sites?

http://www.tooliday.com/
http://accessory.tooliday.com/
http://closeout.tooliday.com/
http://recon.tooliday.com/
http://www.onetooladay.com/

The deals are never on par with the Bosch deal I mentioned above but if your waiting on that last little thing to push you over the edge on a particular tool this might do it.

Happy New Year

The Lowe's coupons say that they can not be used with any other coupons or discounts. I don't shop at Lowe's all that often, but I know my local store would not apply the discount to clearance goods. I don't know if I've tried with sale goods.

Will HD and Lowe's take these coupons on sale/clearance merchandise for you guys?

My local HD takes them on sale items all the time. I never go to HD without a HF 20% off coupon. I always use an original magazine coupon, not a copy.

With most deals like this, it's YMMV. Always worth a shot.

Thanks, received mine today and I like several things about it for the price.

Both the driver bit and and the drill bit cases are pretty stout as plastic cases go. They have a metal pin hinge and sliding plastic latch. The sliding plastic latches are much preferred to the plastic hinge-and
-click latches as they break at the plastic hinge in pretty quick order from repeated stressing. Point is, the cases will work well in my go-bag and I will replace the drill/driver bits as they wear out with better quality items.

The little tictac storage container that is filled with P2 bits is ok as well, and works well for that task.

The best piece of this kit is that little tool bag. It has a hold-open wide mouth and will free stand. It is just the right size to use in my range kit for storing used brass. It will be easy to just toss the brass in there during the session.

I *always* use the Lowes 10% off on sales/clearance goods, AFAIK the only things that the computer does not take them off on are other % off things they run, and I think that's how that's intended. This is at multiple stores.

The website works this way as well... 10% off just about everything.

Speaking of % off...

Menards is running their "Save 11% off everything!" again for 2012. I thought it'd be 12%, but it appears not.

Alone, this is basically the same as buying something on sale and getting the difference as a rebate, however the Save 11% combines with whatever ads they are running. And there should likely be a new ad on the 8th which for one day combines as well.

I was at lowes today and scored this irwin drill bit set. it had drillbits and screwdriver bits and a toolbag for 14.99 it was reg 44.99 and all the stuff individually was an 80.00 value. ive been needing some new bits. it wasnt in the tool section it was kind of on a random isle.

*face palm*

No, that set was never $45, and it's not an $80 value. It's a Black Friday/Christmas "special buy" that pops up once a year, maybe again around father's day.

I bought a similar set 2-3 winters ago and absolutely hate everything but the spades.

Stuey I have a question. I posted about those drill bits on sale about a year ago and you commented back on them saying how they are not any good and now you are advertising them on your webpage and posting the same deal for others to get from amazon instead of lowes... whats up with that? :dunno:

I still have the set, and use them occasionally. The drill bits still stink, but I use them (or at least the ones that are blunted or broken) in light duty dirty work when I don't want to wear out good bits. The spades are still decent but I have since upgraded. Screwdriver bits are still okay, maybe 6 out of 10.

I came across the deal for $15 and it seemed reasonable. I haven't seen the set at Lowes since the start of the holiday season. The way I see the set, you get an $8 bag and $7 in imported bits.

I'm not advertising or recommending them. At this point with 0 being a NEVER BUY and 10 being a BUY IT NOW, I'd rate them a 3.5-4.

There's also a 100-piece Craftsman set that was released for the holidays that was on sale for $15 a few times. I bought a set, and returned it the next day. On my 0-10 scale it's a 2.5 or so.

I've received quite a bit of emails over the past two months asking for screwdriver bit set deals. I point out a good set, then I get a response "I don't need top quality, do you know of anything cheaper, maybe between $10 and $20?"

I've learned that I can tell people something is **** until I'm blue in their face, most look at the price anyways. In terms of the Irwin set, $15 seems like a good deal, so I thought it was worth sharing. If it didn't come with a bag or was priced any higher, and I wouldn't have mentioned it.

I still don't like the "special buy" Irwin bits, but maybe my dislike has softened a little bit with time? I have also been using a couple of higher quality Irwin screwdriver bits and round spade and auger drill bits that I'm quite pleased with. Maybe that softened my memory a little as well? I"m not sure.

I don't mind sharing Lowes deals, but I got a little sick of the dozens of emails I received over the past 6 weeks or so. I posted about the Double Drive and Double Drive with holster, and everyday I would get emails "I can't find this at my local store, where can I buy it." The holster set is online only and sold out a few times, and the regular set changed from in-store pickup to online only to in-store pickup once or twice. Those emails started to die down after Christmas. I'll also get "but I don't see that price on Lowes website" emails because the reader/emailer didn't pop in their zip code. Amazon deals are just so much easier for me to share on TG with less chance of a headache.

In any case, I tried to find it at Lowes website before posting but didn't see it there at all. I thought it was priced a bit higher in November but wanted to see for sure and for a second reference.

Does that answer your question? Anyhow, I went back and reread my post. My tone was neutral if not a bit negative. I changed from an "uch they're garbage" to a "they're half disappointing and half just okay" standpoint.

There's no pro-Amazon, anti-Lowes or pro-Irwin consipracy going on if that's what you're thinking. I LOVE Amazon, strongly like Lowes, and am neutral about Irwin (which is quite generous after an incident that occured a few months ago - an interesting story, but one I won't discuss publicly).

Lowes has 3 pack of Irwin 10" Table Saw blades on clearance for $21. Reg $38 IIRC.
Couple of 40 tooth blades and a 60 tooth finish blade. Significantly cheaper than buying at regular price.
(Menards had 40 tooth blades for $19.99 and the 60 tooth was $30)

Thanks for clearing that up stuey. I guess I just felt like it was a hot deal and then you *face palmed* me and then posted the same deal months later. I thought you felt like it wasn't a good deal when I posted about it...

But whatever. Sorry for all the useless chatter. Now back to the deals!

Don't think I'v seen a 4" file, is that printed right?
Is that the only one I guess, That's OK, I need about a $4.00 filler to get the Battery tender Jr free shipping, so two of these should fit the bill nicely.

Edit
Thanks Jeff, Yeah, it's worth it, I had to order 3 but at least it's something I can use, instead of something stupid.
Battery tender jr, $20.90.

I haven't seen a 4" file either. At $1.54 it's worth a gamble.

EDIT: I found it on the Nicholson/Apex website here.

Good to have amazon prime. I have it $1.54 shipped. 4'' long is kind of wired, so it will be very thin from the ratio of amazon picture.
