Just to make things a bit crazier on the JC Whitney deal.

I got a cancellation for the Duracell inverters. The air pressure regulators I saw disappeared from the order within an hour of placing it, so I knew I wasn't getting those.

I just received an email with tracking number, saying the 6 stainless steel locking hitch pins are shipped. At one cent a piece. Via FedEx.

Yeah, that's the deal. :) Hard to be disappointed for 1 cent, but they look like junk... they have some tiny little protrusion that does the locking, and a little stub on one end. I thought the end in the photo was just cut off and there was a solid end like my Masterlock... nope, the photo is all you get! Wish I got the inverters for three-hundred and forty six times the price each :)

You should still be in their list of future survey panel members. I was told that they'll reaching out with additional opportunities, but I'm not privy to specific details.

Is this something that is closed to new people? I think I missed the original post referred to here...

is this a good deal? I didn't keep eyes on the market since I bought my chest several years ago.

Craftsman 26" Wide 3-Drawer Ball-Bearing Middle Chest for $69

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00962022000P

It's a good price for that particular middle chest. However, that middle chest is the shorter one (10" deep drawers). If you already have the shorter top chest and need a middle chest and are okay with the depth, then it's good.

II highly doubt that, since the way the new batteries get attached is very different from the old ones.

Just got this email from Bosch re: the 18V Driver Drill/ Impact set...

" The tools you have are compatible with any Bosch 18 volt Lithium battery that we have on the market. You can use the following with your tools and charger:

BAT609 - BAT618 - BAT610G - BAT619G"

Saw this on fatwallet.com, HD online has the Chamberlain 1/2 hp chain drive for $97. shipped. There's also a 10 off 100 saveten promotion code so with a couple of fillers it'll come down to around $90. I could use a spare garage door opener since my Stanley is REALLY old.

Yeah, all of the new Lithium batteries are compatible - fat pack/slim pack in the same voltage, high capacity/before high capacity in the same voltage.

None of the batteries from different chemistries will fit the same tools, because if you put a Lithium battery in a NiCad charger, it'd blow up. The cell configuration/etc. changes as well, so it's not even convenient for the manufacturers to have used the same platform.

Tell that to Sears, the right charger takes care of both batteries and the batteries are the same across the C3 lineup.

True, but to be fair Sears brought out a new system with battery technology which had already been outdated, so it was easy for them to do :) Other brands like Bosch's NiCad systems were designed before Lithium batteries were put in common power tools, so the chargers were not designed for it.

Unless you work outside in Alaska with your power tools, Lithium is a far superior technology and there is little reason to use NiCad except for the minor cost savings. The big toolmakers could easily design systems to do both - NiCad batteries are far easier to charge/use than Lithium, but they don't as the demand is now focused on Lithium.

Vessel 4500 Power Grip Screwdrivers

Some at introductory pricing others at regular but roughly $80 for a set of 8 good looking drivers:

Vessel 4500 Power Grip Screwdriver

Vessel tools are entirely Japanese mfg. according to their US distributor website. I have never used them, and they may be just fine, but I would imagine the Swiss/German brands are made to a higher standard.

SEARS2011 when checking out for $5.00 off $50.00. I guess make two separate orders since they both would qualify.

Also 6% Fat Wallet Cash for additional savings.

anybody got a deal on Dremels? Realized I could really use one, would like to find a SCREAMIN deal :)

I don't know how screamin' it is, but I've seen a Dremel 300 kit I believe it is in the Ace Hardware store for a while now for $39.99. I looked it up online, it appears to maybe be a slightly older kit.

No, let me take it, Friday,6:25 PM, then said,
"Thank you for your willingness to participate, however, we are looking for survey respondents who fit a different profile.":

I haven't seen that before, weird, but I know they were specifically looking for homeowner DIYer types.

I think I bought one of those about 3 years ago at Walmart for $39.99. Works great! Has the variable speed control. It was about that time they started making the cordless model and am glad I didn't go that route. I'm anti-cordless these days. :)

I have that very box (bought it on Black Friday). It's not bad, but the friction slides are pretty sad. White lithium wasn't enough, but regular lithium grease (heavier) was too much.
