Thanks for that - I picked up the crimpers and the cutters for $21 total.

Fwiw, these are the US-made tools that my HD seemed to be clearing out:

Crescent (get 'em while you can and check before buying- the only US-made ones are old stock)
8" & 10" water pump pliers - $8 (click for amazon link)
6" adjustable - $6
8" adjustable - $7
10" adjustable - $8

Channellock
85 (fencing tool) - $13
350s (ironworkers pliers) - $13
437 (diag. cutters) - $10
909 (crimpers) - $10

There was also a place for a three piece Vise Grip set (no longer US-Made, of course) with a knife for $20, but my HD didn't have any left.

Same price in my local HD. Also Channellock 8WCB (8'' Wrench) - $14

what is that ironworkers pliers used for? I already have a 9'' Cannellock Lineman pliers, similar functionality?
anyone had experience with this fence tool?

The fence tool works good if you work on fencing that uses alot of U nails.

I also use them on random things since the end is a hammer face, or use the to pull smaller nails out of scrap wood I reuse around the farm.

I have actually seen them cheaper when Sears has their sales

I will keep a watch for them and the pry bars too

I'll pick them up when they are on sale since I only have 9,10,12,13,14,15,17, and a 22mm

Plus he has a bunch of deep 6 point sockets I could add to my collection. I still need to get my stubby williams wrenches

They aren't marked sale or clearance or anything, but the prices are all whole dollar amounts versus the usual $10.97 or $10.98 type prices. You might just scan one to see if they haven't been marked down yet but are in the computer system.

nice thanks I need to get some new straps for my trailer

Just FYI, but every strap that I have purchased from northern tool has been very low quality. Of course, the straps from Lowes aren't much better.

Wilde does make them. As another member mentioned, more than one company may make them for Sears.

This video of the Wilde factory shows them being made. It's at 1:25

I think Wilde makes the red handles, and Mayhew makes the pro with striker caps. Epstein has Wilde branded that "match" the red handles in some larger sizes too.

I have alot of the double J 10k lb straps I believe and have had no problems with them. I think they're the 27' ones.

Yea, these guys

They've held down a 5k gallon storage tank, many Jeeps and lots more. I'm going to go get two more. Thanks.

So can you get the Wilde's cheaper than Craftsmans, since they don't have the well known brand name stamped on them?

I highly doubt you'll be able to beat Sear's sale prices ($20) on those...

They dont sell the Wilde ones in retail stores, so it'll probably cost you close to $20 just for shipping!

No kidding. I thought I forgot to take any straps with me when picking up a crib and dresser for my sons room this fall but there was a Lowe's across the street so I picked up a couple rated at 800 or 1000 lbs each. The stitching on the first one I tried to use tore as soon as there was any tension on the strap. Luckily after that, I found a couple straps in the box under my back seat.

I own a few of the NAPA ratchets and they are USA made.
The NAPA hardline tools (screwdrivers are made in Germany) are USA, Danahar made. The ratchets are the same as the old, old Kobalt, old allen, and full polished craftsman's. The only differance is they use a metal slector.

The impact sockets are the same as the craftsman, & armstrong USA made ones. Although they dont have the lazer etching.

Just to clarify:

The " 3/8'" Dr. 15" Long NHT NB46 " is a misprint. The NB46 is NOT a 15" long, it's a 7-3/4" ratchet:

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NHTNB46_0006400677

There isn't a 15" long 3/8 drive ratchet in the Napa Hand Tools line that I know of or can find.

They are US-made, though. I swung by today and snagged some stuff. They're nice full-polish handles, and good ratchets, but they're the same internals as the Craftsman RP and full-polish/pro ratchets (not that I've found that to be a bad thing).

They do have metal selector levers, too.

And, for what it's worth, the reversible GearWrenches do NOT have the capstops on them, as to be expected considering the retailer.

mayhew = cman pro red/black handle with striking cap pry bars

Yes however there is excellent indication that the handles are supplied from another company, not Mayhew, since Mayhew themselves import handles for their dominator line.
