home depot has rolling work benches made by whalen for 99-149$ on clearance. I got two for 99$ each

in store only YMMV http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...=4485850&SID=u0t3862774f9fp0dd0c0s671&cj=true

Hey these are a great buy! I just picked one up in Home Depot about an hour ago on Military HWY in Norfolk VA. They have 4 left in the store. I checked out the display prior and was immediately impressed. The paint and thickness of the materials really stood out. Far better than anything similar at Harbor Freight for sure. I actually left HD and drove immediately to HF and looked at the tool carts to compare. My conclusion ---> Go get one It is a HOT deal!!

I saw one today, it's nice. And even nicer at $99. I couldn't fit it in my car even if I unpacked it or I'd have gotten it-- man, that hurt, walking away.

When checking it out I took the drawer out of the floor model. They have metal ball bearings in in the slides, not the best in the world but great for the price. The unit isn't as sturdy as the HF 13 drawer model but you're right, it stands nicely in comparison to their rolling work drawer units.

Are these cheaper in store? On-Line it is showing at $199 at my local store. Guess I'll just have to make a road trip this afternoon...

I picked up two as well and used a gift card for part of the purchase. This is definitely one of my better scores from the last year. Thanks!

My Dad and me just unloaded the boxed cart of the two I purchased and it weighs 158 lbs. Didn't post weight on my prior post as it was unknown to me at that time. I still need to pick up the display unit I purchased. Will pick it up Sunday, It needs to be taken apart to fit into the Jeep. I will start a thread on the cart for ideas for it's options and care for the top.

Thanks, JASTECH

I went and grabbed 1 rolling bench and 1 of the shelving units. Had to drive about 50 minutes and it was worth it until I came back out and my car(VW GTI) wouldn't start. It was completely out of the blue. Check my positive and ground connections, they were tight. Went back in and bought a booster pack to jump it, luckily it had enough juice to jump it and went on my way. The weird thing is I made a stop on my way home and stayed at the place for 4 1/2 hours and when I came out it started fine. Got home, checked my battery and it's 12.4 volts with the car off. Guess I'll have to do some more searching tomorrow or I'll swap out the batteries.

Took some effort, but picked up one of the rolling benches at HD and somehow got it to fit in the backseat of an Altima.

Got it for my small metal lathe, should work great.

Love that inventory checker
Now I need one for Lowe's, HF and Sears. Already have an inventory checker for all my high-dollar stuff... Craigslist :)

Anything below about 12.6 and I like to replace them. We had all kinds of flaky stuff going wrong on our Lincoln with a 12.4 or so battery, replaced it and smooth flying.

Another issue can be cables that look ok, but have corrosion at some hard to see point.

Craftsman 3-piece thin profile ratchet set $44.99 (plus shipping, no store pickup), way cheaper than I have ever seen them before. I happened to get a trial ShipVantage subscription a week ago to pick up the full polish offset wrench set, so this was well-timed for me as I will cancel that ShipVantage subscription soon. No store pickup on these.

Edit: this deal was posted on SlickDeals so if you want them, better not wait too long.

Bobbar:

Thanks for posting this...I think.

:lol_hitti

I found 2 listed at the Chaska MN location, but when I got there they actually had 3 of them - 2 in boxes, and one display unit. I bought the two boxed ones and left the display unit for someone else. (Online inventory now shows 0 in stock).

The casters on these benches are worth almost what I paid for the whole thing. As I was putting them together I noticed that the casters even have grease zerks on them! Amazing deal! A much better solution for me than the HF 5-drawer cart.

Now I just need to decide what I am gonna fill them up with. Shouldn't be a big problem...

I have the Craftsman Thin Profile ratchets and I love them. I just got in a 1/4 Thin Profile on Ebay and what I don't get is the packaging stated the COO was Taiwan, but the Ratchet is stamped USA?

$45 is a GREAT price for this thin profile ratchets. I wonder what prompted such a steep discount.

My thought is maybe they have a usa batch in a warehouse since its online only.... I have seen the china ones at my local sears. Ill pick em up and hope they are usa

Got one this morning. Couldn't find anything $5 for the $5 off $50 coupon so I ended up finding the full set of flare wrenches for $31. Don't forget if you have a discover to use shop discover and get 10% back.

Will they match the online price in store? I have a gift card at home but I'm not there until later tonight. I'm worried they will run out online. Plus in store I can see if they have any old stock USA ones.

Do you have to do anything special to get the shop discover cashback or just pay with your discover card? does it work if discover is also going to give you other promotions? (I've been offerred $10 if I use my discover card before Feb; apparently I don't use it enough)

Looks like they are already sold out, got a set a few hours ago, tried several coupon codes and none worked.

Want to say that discover thing is something you sign up for for free, I know last time I went to my account online I finally signed up for it. I am sure it means they send your name to a mailing list.

I hope they are the USA stock. Seems like lately Sears has been clearing out the old (USA) stock to make room for the new (China) stock. Go figure!

discover cashback is kind of tricky. Take a look at MOJoWales' post at following link:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29661&page=411

I go through the link to sears through the discover web site itself. I get a pop-up from sears that says something like 'Welcome discover shopper' and then I make sure to re-add everything to my cart and use my discover card when I check out. You don't get to see the cash back though, it shows up on the next statement so it takes a bit of faith, but as far as I've been able to determine, it's always showed up for me. I've used it with Advance Auto as well.
