Less than 1 cent pricing is common for unit prices of fasteners It makes sense if people are buying by the thousand. It probably crept over from their other products.

Actually, you just need to shrink a quarter.

OK I'll bite. Please explain...............

The amount of energy applied to the quarters shown in joules. Those lines if you look really closely are radial and called Luder's lines and run parallel to applied force. Not quite sure how you apply it so evenly to a cylindrical object- my guess is an EM field.

I could use a little money, but seems like the hard way to get some.

Happily Norton free for about 5 years now, MUCH more trouble than any good it did.

Avast! is free for home use, just register once a year and decline upgrade offers from time to time, works great.

NO security software is perfect. I agree the OLDER Norton was a resource hog and I started using eSet (Node32) and Webroot, but they started being resource hogs as well, so Itried Norton 360 this year and it is excellent.

You guys thinking that just "being smart" will get you by on the Internet these days better think again. Every time I even cruise thru "normal" news websites I find at least 24 to 38 Spywares latched on to my computer. Most of the time they are relatively harmless, but don't count on it. Spyware is the primary script to pick off people's login info and credit card info these days.

For the price Norton is asking it is a bargain compared to the others and the free stuff is little more than trash that hackers use to figure out how to get past your free security software. Take your chances, but I can't. I use my computer for a living, and have been on the Internet since 1994. It is getting much worse.

AMAZON:

Dewalt DWS780 12-Inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw
AND
DWX723 Heavy Duty Miter Saw Stand

$559 with Free shipping.

You won't see the $199 discount until after you add it to your cart and select the shipping address. If they run out of stock keep checking back. I believe this deal is good through 31 March.

BTW the QD brackets to mount the saw to the stand come with the stand. You can buy additional brackets to mount other tools for around $35 a set.

EM using a quarter sandwiched between 2 pieces of dowel, placed within a coil:

It's a sudden discharge that effectuates the shrinking.

Great deal, but don't hot-link those images, it costs those sites $$. Upload the images to imageshack, photobucket, or flickr, or "attach" them to your post.

Not bad, I bought the same set NAPA branded from I think Cripe, the deal at Sears is Online only, so maybe order at a in store kiosk for free shipping. OTOH I recall online only deals not working in some way with the in store kiosk.

I just got off the phone with Sears about an hour ago after having trouble trying to order the 3 piece Premium Ratchet Set. According to the associate I spoke to (Craig) they'll be back in stock soon.

Tractor supply is having a few specials this Saturday only.

Roundup Promax 2.5 gal - makes 100 gallons. $49.99
Blue colorant - $19.99 - I use this is the sprayer to see the path
15 gallon spot sprayer $69.99

Do yourself a favor and stop wasting your money on Round Up (or any other weed killer found at the box stores). The percentage of the weed killer 2-4-D in them is a joke. Round Up is what, like 10% or so?

Go to your local farm Co-Op or Feed Store and get the pure (100%) 2-4-D for way less money (I pay $43 for 2.5 gallons and it mixes at 1qt per acre with 15 gallons of water.) It actually kills the weeds, instead of playing with it like Round Up, et all do.

If you are looking for straight vegetation killer, the farm store will have that too.

Can you give some product names? Or do you just say 2-4-D?

Can you help me understand here? By my calculations, if you mix 1qt of 100% with 15 gallons of water, that equals a mix that contains 1.67% 2-4-D. So how would that work better than the 10% mix that Round Up contains?

I completely agree to get the 100% and mix it yourself, but I'm wondering if the dilution you stated is incorrect, or if my math is incorrect, or if I'm just crazy. :)

RoundUp ProMax as posted is a concentrate, it makes 100 gallons for about $90 (or $50 with the sale) instead of $20 a gallon like the "Big box" RoundUp you're thinking of.

RoundUp interests me because I'm planting RoundUp-ready crops and using it for weed control.

Your just crazy!, lol..j/k
It makes a difference in quality of 2-4-D, Round Up uses lower quality and nothing like a emulserfier to sustain it. I use a 2-4-D/Curtail mix then mix with water. This takes dandies to puncture vine down into their roots. For a everything killer I use Clear All or Weed Master.

RoundUp is NOT 2,4,D. The active ingredient in RoundUp is glyphosate, which is a systemic herbicide. 2,4,D is a contact / burn down type, iirc.

I'd be interested to see what the concentration (%) of glyphosate is in that alleged "Pro" they are selling at TS. Iirc, our commercial stuff we get is about 41%, but that's off the top of my head.

But basically what someone said about not buying it at big box stores is pretty much true. You can get generic glyphosate at LESCO (now John Deere Landscapes) or other chemical supply houses for much less. I think we pay now around $60 or $70 for a 2.5 gal. of the "real" concentrate, which we mix at 2-3 oz. per gal. depending on target weeds. We are a commercial landscape & pest control company though, retail customer they probably charge you a little more, but still way less than the box stores I'd imagine.

Interesting timing. I picked up 2.5 gallons of grass/weed killer (41% glyphosphate) at tractor supply, on sale for $40 (normally $50). They also had the 2-4D weed killer right next to it. Go to the 'Farm' section in the store to find it, it is not with the regular weed killer in the lawn/garden section. I suspected that when I went in, but I can't say I'm pleased they don't have it all in one place, pretty much sets people up to pay way too much for something that is functionally equivalent in the same store.

They would have both of these products in most any agri-supply store I think. Glad to see it was at Tractor Supply as there is one pretty near my house.

So the reduced price of the grass/weed killer at TSC, coupled with relaying the knowledge that you can use these products as substitutes for much more expensive products, make these posts belong in this thread.

Say, I have an idea .. what about a subforum where there could just be one thread dedicated to this so people that don't care can easily skip over it?
