Is everyone paying for shipping on the Gearwrench? I was in the store and somehow the guy gave me free shipping to my house. There is one other ratchet that I want to order, but trying to avoid going to the store to see if I can get the same deal.

Sears is seriously killing me but the price is good, I've had that 3/8 ratchet with a matco 88 kit in it for over 2 years and use it everyday in the shop, no problems at all. long story short i have 3 more coming.

re: the pass-through....am I crazy, or is the C-man stuff a better value, even barely on sale:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00929309000P

That appears to be the 1/4 and 3/8 sets combined. Or, is the GW stuff that much better / different? I'm betting that CM is china though...

I have the small 3/8 set (black finish). It paid for itself the first time I needed to used it.

I've had that set since Christmas, and it is made in china. Although the quality of it is still quite good.

Quality/fit and finish are okay, I bought two sets on sale and each had one socket malformed, and one ratchet came broken. The ratchets feel cheap overall.

I'm guessing GW is the OEM for the Craftsman pass-thru sets as well.

Kobalt just released a new pass-thru called Xtreme Access or something lame, it looked great until I looked closely and it's spline sockets. Price is not competitive yet either. I think the old Kobalt sets (old GW?) were the way to go.

he didn't scare me off. i just wont post anymore because some will complain or i'll get a reply like sorry for your wallet if it has already been posted.

Oh wow, terribly sorry. I didn't mean to offend. I just wanted to share the master list of GearWrench sale items with you in case you were interested in picking up the rest of the ratchets, etc.

The 'sorry for your wallet' comment was a tongue-in-cheek 'welcome to the club' kind of jest after so many of the rest of us have spent hundreds of dollars after discovering the breadth of the GW sale at Sears. Just trying to be helpful to you, nothing more.

Can anyone recommend a worse or more frustrating website than Sears to try to order stuff from?

Gonna try one more time to buy the 2 Gearwrench flex ratchets and then I'm going back to my buy American made tools. I'd just like to have a 1/4 & 3/8 flex (which I don't have) and don't want to drop big $$ til i know I'll really use them.

Not trying to hijack as i know this is for posting deals but Sears.com bugs the piss outta me.

I broke my mouse the last time I tried to order from there. They did send me an apology email after my review of their website. I think I'm done trying to order from them online. The store employees seem to do it pretty quickly.

Some of the guys like to compile master lists of the stuff on clearance or sale. It helps to cut down on shipping and trips to stores. The sorry for your wallet is kind of a running joke when someone posts a lot of deals or a really good one they know you can't pass on. Have you checked out the Sears threads yet? A couple of weeks ago they clearanced a bunch of ratchets, sockets and ratcheting hand wrenches.

Not much of a business if you buy and resell, at the same price.

Not to mention none of you would even know of tge deal if they hadn't posted it for others to see

Amazon kicked off their Father's Day tool sales.

Bosch's seemed to be the best - $20 off $100+ or $40 off $200+. (More discussion via TG). No coupon needed - discount at checkout.

There are a bunch of other brand-related deals as well (e.g. $10 off $50 RotoZip, $10 off $50 Skil, etc), with some ending May, other spanning into June.

I'm crossing my fingers that there will be a Dewalt discount as well.
