Thanks for the offer. They didn't flinch, though. I had to wait 45 minutes to get it, so they knocked some more money off. I walked out of there with a 20 ton press for $150.:bounce:

By the way, for all of my fellow NRA members, last month's American Rifleman has a 20% off coupon from Harbor Freight that is good thru December on any one item.

In addition to the American Rifleman, you can also find harbor Freight 20% off coupons in Popular Mechanics, Motor Trend, and other magazines each month.

I'm surprised you guys are acting like these HF coupons are rare. I'm getting a 20% coupon every week by email. EVERY week. I figured you guys were already signed up on their email list.

bchee,

I've asked a few of the guys why they don't and they replied that they all get too much junk mail or don't what to give out there email addy (they also didn't want another throw away address).

I used mine for the week buying another hand truck for my daughter to have.

I get, and read their email, and I am NOT seeing weekly 20% coupons. What I get are discounts on specific tools I don't want.

I haven't seen too many good deals lately. =(

Some retailers maintain different email lists. I know Enco does this, but didn't know that HF did it as well. Is there a "if you're seenng this from a friend, sign up for this newsletter here" link at the bottom of the emails?

Its depressing printing out a HF 20% off coupon, driving to the store and walking out with nothing.

I get those coupons you're referring to, but I also get a separate email with the 20% coupon. I just got one for the labor day weekend. I just noticed in the top right corner there is a link to send it to a friend.
The sender is [email protected]

The coupon has a barcode. It says it's non-transferable. I don't know if that's true.

I did not find this on Home Depots web site just in the store in my area but they are running a instant rebate on pretty much all power tools until 9/16.
It works like this if you buy something
$149-$299 you get $25 off at the register
$300-599 you get $75 off
$600-999 you get $150 off
$1000-up you get $300 off
The cool thing is if you find something for $299 you can buy a $1 accessory and it pushes you over $300 and you get the $75 off. I ended up buying a Drill press and a chop saw (bought them separate) and got a total of $100 off:bounce:. Not to bad for stuff I was going to buy anyways.

PB Swiss tools is having a special sale until Sept 30th; check it out here:
http://www.pbtools.us/tiff_pick.html

it looks like they only have the plastic tipped dead blow hammer, where can I find PB Swiss with other heads and variations like is in the "old world tool' thread?
Alan

well i went back to that thread and it looks like the PB cutaway example also has plastic heads.

HFusa.com has in store deals etc.
HF without the usa is the online deals, but print them out and if the store has it they usually match the price.

Went to my local Menard's tonight...found a box of 5 Irwin Vise-Grip Locking Tools and a T-shirt marked down from $39.99 to $29.99! They're in kind of a non-descript blue and white box. I couldn't find them on the Menard's website or in the weekly ad, so I'll do my best to describe:

Included in the box:

TWO x 6R (C-clamp style, 6")

TWO x 11R (C-clamp style, 11")

ONE x 10R (Straight jaw "regular" style, 10")

And one "Irwin Vise-Grip" T-shirt.

Only downside: they're all "Made In U.S.A. (with global components) "

This may have been a one-shot deal at my local Menard's, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them at other Menard's stores. Purchased individually, you're looking at a minimum of $50...I couldn't resist, and you can never have enough Vise-Grips.

UPDATE: Harry Epstein is selling the exact same set for $50, which is still a decent deal, but nowhere near $29.99.

Personally I don't think I would buy it, but $500 with Milwaukee, Dewalt, or Rigid might get you 4-5 tools
