This is correct. They have the model #wrong. It's actually the 1/4" set.

Kobalt doesn't actually make a 20 piece 3/8 set. The 3/8 set is 24 pieces and it's $34. Not on sale.

However, because I bought it online with in-store pickup, when I got there, they honored the 3/8 set at the 1/4 set price. So, I got a 3/8, 24 piece Made in USA set that's NOT on sale for $13. :bounce:

I ordered this for pickup before the error was revealed here. I had no luck at the store. Not even an apology for the error. Waste of my time. And it is STILL incorrect on the website. No response from them to my complaint.

Mine also had the same price on a 6-piece soft handle set, not pictured on their website.

Sears currently has the Craftsman Professional (SAE or metric #45963/4) 13 piece full polish combination wrench sets on sale for 30% off. They're regularly 99.99, on sale for 69.99. And you can tack on the 5off50 for an even better deal. They also have the 5 piece topper sets and stubby sets at similar savings. Sorry, I can't get the linky thing to work.

I went to Lowes today and they have the 1/4" set marked as the on-sale item. bought a set. when I got home, just to find out the ratchet is DEAD, I can switch the lever back and forth but the drive refuses to turn at all. It never happened to the HF ratchets. yeah, USA....

I don't know if I'm gonna exchange it or just return the POS.

When I looked at the set, they had an open one in the store, I thought the best thing about it was the plastic case.

I just ordered one of these as well and am going to see if I can get the 3/8" set like you did when I go to pick it up tomorrow.

I just got back from Lowes and they gave me the 3/8" drive set for the 1/4" price no problem. While I was there I saw a sign that said 10% off your purchase on memorial day with a military ID so they refunded me the money I paid online and rang it up again with my 10% discount so it ended up costing me $12.15 for the 24 piece 3/8" drive socket set. Also while I was there I remembered someone posting about them clearing out their lithium ion 2 pack AA batteries for .99 cents. They were not labeled clearance but I asked the lady to scan them and sure enough they are still .99 cents so I bought 10 packs. I have to say on inspection of these tools that I am extremely disappointed in them. Their finish and overall quality is very sub standard. I am shocked that Danaher produced a tool like this.

Good link, they also have a similar deal on the SAE and Metric die only set for about $65 shipped.

Today, I noticed that Amazon dropped the price of the above Irwin metric tap and die set from $79.67 to $75.74.

Well I just got back as well, but I was only able to get the 1/4" set. And I am also somewhat disappointed in the fit and finish...Oh well, you get what you pay far I guess!

napa has a father's day special this month on the 7pc gearwrench flexhead sae/metric combos for 34.99. if napa is out of stock, just take the flyer to sears or lowes to price match.

may also want to check out your local true value for the 8pc+2 free non flex gearwrench sae/metrics limited time only sets. mine had the sae/metric on clearance for 29.97. the normal 8pc was 50+. this is very YMMV.

I picked up the 1/4" set a couple of days ago. I cut them some slack on the 3/8" error on the website because I've been getting some spectacular customer service from our Lowe's store recently.

Mechanically it seems the same as the Craftsman raised panel teardrop ratchet with an ugly handle. Very coarse. The sockets and case are OK.

For 12 bucks, it was a good replacement for my pathetic assortment of 1/4" Chinese sockets, plus a bonus ratchet. It's American made and warranted too. It wasn't worth the original price of $24.99, but it's a decent deal for half of that.

I stopped in NAPA on lunch today to pickup some oil filters and oil for my vehicles and saw the Gearwrench 7 pc ratcheting flex head combo wrench deal for $34.95 for either the SAE or Metric. I did a triple take and grabbed one of each, what a deal! I checked MSC later at work at their price was $148.95 for the SAE set and with our corporate discount it was $96.96. So basically for $70 I scored almost $300 worth of wrenches, made me lunch taste that much better.

Don't forget, Napa will give you an additional ~7% off if you show your AAA card.

Nothing special needed. Just go to your local napa store and ask for a june sales flyer. I picked these up last night and the salesman couldn't believe napa would sell them for that.

One of the Napas in town had the sets for $70 and $75 respectively...the one alittle further away from me had them for $35 each. I have a set reserved for pick-up at the other store...didn't check to see if the closer one would price match since I believe they are all individually owned.

Check the other stores around your area.

If it's not too much trouble, can someone tell me what the wrench sizes are in the sets? Are there any skips (skipped sizes)? The link didn't work for me.

Thanks.

OK, thanks. I went on-line to my local NAPA and the price was then $35, so I reserved a metric and SAE set for pick-up.

Again, thanks for the heads-up!

This will make the family happy, just wrap 'em up and give them back to me on Father's Day.

Just called my local NAPA and she said nothing was currently on sale. She even got a sales flyer and told me no.

The next town over also doesn't seem to know anything about it.
