I don't know if any of you guys check Tooliday or their affiliated sites but they have a new deal every day some good some not as good. They have a good deal on Bondhus today only, a mm and sae set of hex hey wrenches for $25 shipped.

http://accessory.tooliday.com/
That does look like a decent set.

But... the price is just okay. With shipping included, the set is nearly $1 more expensive than it is on Amazon.

You guys familiar with Amazon's "Friday Sale"? Seems their tools end up toward bottom of "Home Improvement" section, and some in "auto" section.

I honestly wouldn't know how to find it in a week, I stumbled upon it and can't seem to find a bookmarkable page for the Friday sale. [EDIT OK I figured it out. On the main page click the "gold box - today's deals" at the top. Then see a link a little below the gold box that says "Friday Sale." Then click "Home Improvement" on the left side.]

For example, Jacobs chucks 82% off. A recon Bosch PS20, $69, and so on...

Not sure if this qualifies for a 'hot deal' since it is HF, but i figured i'd post this since everyone here raves about the HF black tool cart.

I was able to score it for $80 yesterday. They are currently selling it online for $100 without a coupon. So I printed out my shopping cart, manager knocked it down to $100 to match, then I was still able to use the 20% off coupon on top of that and got it for $80! The in-store advertised price was $150 on sale.

http://www.harborfreight.com/580-lb-capacity-four-drawer-roller-cart-95659.html

Not bad for my first time there IMO...

Confirmed!

The cart is on sale via a "Super Coupon" today for $99.99, but it also is advertised for $99.99 online, no coupon. My store price-matched the website, and then allowed a 20% off coupon, since price-matching isn't a coupon.

Out the door for $79.99!

Thanks for the heads up. I have plenty of sets now I was just going to get it for extras, I'll wait.

Cman 5-drawer roller chest $49. Down from $229.

Store pickup or you get reamed on shipping.

That's a great deal, nice box to keep some medium size cordless tools in.

Heck of a deal on that chest - too bad nobody in Oregon carries it (save for one store that's out of stock). :(

Those items aren't part of the Friday Sale. I check the friday sale every week and used to check it before going to bed Thursday night.

There haven't been great items as part of the Friday sale for years now. Every now and then there's a decent one, but not really. Sometimes there are no home improvement deals at all included in the sale.

Regarding Amazon's value section or any of the regular sales look at the prices but not the fictional %-off.

$70 for the reconditioned PS20 is decent, though.

Ok, I give up. Besides spreading pads what else is this used for? What are all those disks for?

I've been doing my own brake work forever and never needed any tool(s) like this. Well, maybe I did when I had the Saab. But then it was cheaper to just swap the calipers.

On some four wheel disc brake systems, the parking brake is integral to the caliper. You can't use a pry bar, c clamp, or other traditional means to compress the piston. The piston has to be rotated inward. Those discs are adapters to fit vaious styles of pistons. On some late model Fords, they use a left hand thread on the left rear side so, not only do you need the disc assortment, you'll also need two tools. One righty tighty, and one lefty tighty.:wtf:

I hope this isn't a thread hijack, maybe we could start another thread on it.

So, Fedwrench I was wondering if you could clear something up for me......how does that rear brake piston work? It actually hurts my brain trying to figure it out!

You pull on the handbrake, some fancy mechanical device starts to push that piston out (rotates?). Then when you release the parking brake, some other fancy mechanical device somehow rotates the piston back in.

If it has to be physically rotated back, how does this happen when you let off on the brake or let off on the parking brake?

I must be misunderstanding something I guess

The husky stuff is alright for the price for a glovebox toolkit or the like, but I just can't abide by the handles. The design just doesn't sit well with me for some reason.

My 98 Honda Accord had these calipers on it. I had to buy the set in a pinch and paid full price.

Keyword is definitely some. I've had a couple vehicles which have the twist pistons (99 Mustang GT, 91 Ford Probe GT), and a couple which are just the normal C clamp press in style (2006 Ford Explorer V8, 95 Mazda MX-6 LS).

Check your vehicle on the net before buying the set as a C clamp can do everything else if you don't need to twist the piston.

Also, I used a good pair of needle nose pliers to twist pistons back in the day and it worked fine.

Quiet glide, I'll never buy another one of those boxes again even at $50. If you put more than 50 pounds in a single drawer, the sheet metal which holds the glides in will bend and the glides can then fall out.

I'm pretty sure the MAX load rating on those drawers is 50 lbs, maybe less.

Just sayin...

50 pounds was a good guess then, wasn't it!

Half the slide holders were bent before I even unpacked the box. Granted, might not be the case for all of these units. I bent them back in place and they failed not long after.

With the larger drawers, you would be surprised how quickly 50 pounds add up with just some socket sets and/or c-clamps.

I found this on BITOG. It is just a scan of someone's flyer and seems to have worked well for the BITOG folks. Among other things, you can make some pretty good deals on Gearwrench stuff with it. *I* certainly intend to!

dude, that coupon rocks!! bought 3 pairs of Mechanix M-pact impact gloves with them. listed price $35, $26 at Advance AP, I paid $17.22 after tax with the coupon.

we are building a 12' x 8' liftgate for the trailer, lots of grinding with 7" grinders. that impact gloves made a huge difference on saving my knockles.

thanks

MSC has two overlapping promos thru 7/2.

$35% off >$249 orders (SELECT35W) and free shipping over $149 (WEBFF).

These two codes stack.

MSC sells "the good stuff".

15 LED lights for $15 at HD.

15 LED lights for $15 at HD being reported. THey are 6 LED lights. In-store special. Not online, and may vary by store. I can't imagine they're quality, but, if you have a big family and you want to outfit all the kids with a light for 4th of July...maybe.

I saw them on their online ad, they look exactly like the free ones you get from HF. So if you don't have a HF to get them from it is a good deal. I love the ones I have from HF. Very handy and you can't beat the price.

EDIT: Just noticed I made it to 100 posts!

I was at Home Depot (or was it Lowes) a couple of days ago and they had some kind of similar deal. I don't see it on their web site but I think it was 15 of those lights for $15 or $20 with batteries.
