Hello. I am a newbie on this site although I have been a member on the Model A Fordbarn site for years.
I have a Snap On Split beam torque wrench which needs adjusting. I have a digital torque adaptor and find that the Snap On Torque wrench is our of calibration. When I dial 60 ft-lbs on the wrench, I am actually getting about 70 ft-lbs. The wrench is 1/2" drive and is about 20 years old and has never been calibrated.
It has two small screw type (about 1/4" in diameter) fasteners on the side beside the dial which I assume are there for adjustment. The fasteners have two small holes in each to allow turning.
Do I just turn these to adjust? Do I remove these and is there an adjustment internally?
Any help will be much appreciated.
