How do you store stubby wrenches?

I've decided to make stubbys out of
Open end wrenches that have different
sizes on each end.
How, and or what would you store them in?

I used some insulated electrical wire that I wound around a shaft on the lathe then removed to have a small coil that works great.

Could use a magnetic adhesive strip over a home made sharktooth rack cut from wood if your home made 1 sided stubbies not going sit well on normal rack options.
coiled wire can work if done well .

I'd recommend also wrench rolls and/or foam block with slots cut into it (DIY).

Both work well for lighter weight tools with a compact footprint. The Ernst racks above are also under $10. So lots of affordable options just need to find one you like.

The wire loops may work, but haven't tried with smaller wrenches. 12 or 10 gauge I thik is what most people use. Maybe experiment with the loop sizes and see how it turns out.

Kind of a pain because each size hangs with all types that I own. But since I don't have to worry about being able to lock them up in a shop a lot of stuff hangs on pegboard or in this case with screws into a board I put behind the pegboard.

not the best photo, but you can see them hanging.

I showed my wife and she said why can't you do that. Thanks a lot buddy! I have to admit the drawer is a thing of beauty. Well done!

Thanks idea for it came from someone on here. Edited original post and added link here too

He used pieces of pex as spacers. I used all thread, and spun the nuts on. Took forever. If I ever rearrange I will be picking up some type of tubing that is easy to cut so all i have to do is spin nuts on each end, and I'm done.

I think if I ever kept wrenches in my drawers I would probably do the same thing. I took 2.5 to 3 drawers worth of pliers maybe more if they were not crammed in and have space leftover in 1 drawer after adding in duplicates that were stored away elsewhere it's a deep one and previously I used the shallow ones. I doubt I could fit all my wrenches and pliers if I tried to lay them flat or use the wrench storage others have mentioned.

Sorry to hijack OP back to stubby storage in tool box drawers :lol_hitti

Looks very tidy, but I don't see any
stubby wrenches, that's what this thread
is about.
Sorry, this comment was not meant for
your post but the nice organized drawer.

Point of posting it is you could easily store your stubbies the same way. I store my wrenches differently, i showed how i store mine, you said only inside a toolbox. So instead of trying to describe how I would store them if i used the drawer i showed the concept of what I would use. I thought maybe might be a storage solution you could be interested in.

It is something I could use, thanks.
I was thinking wood might be a bit
lighter for my application, which is
for mobility on my trike.

Im not sure the weight difference. Can get away with pretty thin sheet metal. Could go thinner, and add a 180 degree bend on top and bottom to stiffen it up. I dont have a small scale or i would weigh the setup that is normally small pliers that i put the stubbies in. That is aluminum so pretty light. I cant remember where but i bought some stock for a machining class on west side of indy. They cut it down. Hell they would probably shear down some for you if you dont have access to one. Beats trying to use tin snips. And I imagine take way less space than using wood.
