Had this 2 tone engine hoist for a while never assemble it, I think I have found all the parts scattering all over the place now. I want to assemble it so little bolts and pieces don't walk away.... Now the question is how do you store it?

This one supposedly fold able and it's air hydraulic.

So the question is... where do you store it ?

Out Side under a cover?

or it have to be inside ?

Great question. I got so tired of pushing mine (fold-up style) around the garage to get to other things that I gave it away to a friend. Now if I need to use one I just borrow it back as-needed.

I store mine inside currently. I left it in my dad's shop when I moved out on my own and it was there for a few years afterward and his shop is unfinished/open air and either because of the geography around his place or the design or whatever it is a moisture trap, I've never seen a building trap condensation the way his does. As such, any uncoated steel on it is rusted right to hell.

If you were to keep the exposed steel coated/oiled it would be fine under cover outside. I plan on shoving mine in the shed at some point, I don't have anything I plan on yanking the engine out of anytime soon and anything I can eliminate from taking up floor space in my single car garage/shop helps.

The engine hoist was a pain in the rear to store when not needed,

Sooo.
I installed on it 3 small casters.

2 in the bottom part

And 1 on the top part.

Note that I attached the tower to keep everything in place, I used the pump bar.

All was left to do was to lay the hoist on the casters and roll it under the workbench.
It's out of the way and easy to roll out of there.

Mine is in the shed, or at my brother-in-laws place... He's used it far more than I have, Keep the shaft on the ram fully retracted, or lube it, or put a bag over its head...
HE didn't one time and it rusted to ****, I had to fix it when it came back. he leaves it sitting outside next to his garage, I generally keep it inside.

I sold it on CrackList as soon as I was done and now someone else can trip over the damn thing.

If I need it again, I'll go buy another new one and sell it when I'm done.

NEVER buy one unless the legs fold! Under the stairs to attic storage.

Back when I had one, I stored it where it was certain to be in the way of everything I would ever need to get to and the perfect spot to whack my shin on. When a guy came by to check out an engine I was selling, I casually mentioned, "need an engine hoist?" We struck a deal and away it went. If I ever need one, I'll just try to borrow one or buy a new one from HF and hock it on CL when I'm done with it.

I have two engine hoists that fold up and are easily rolled out of the way when not needed; but consider them a joy to have handy, and ready to lift, hold, or steady a large or heavy object... Together, when folded, those two hoists take up 1/2 the space of a single non-folding hoist. So they often sit side by side with other equipment that is also equipped with caster wheels..

In the garage.

Dan, when I look at Your tractor pictures, I think of the countless times Auntie Allis; My WD45, has kindly saved my back with hardly a grunt out of Her stack. She is always willing to help out when the foldable engine hoists have reached their limit, or a large object has to be carried across the yard..

I don't have any problem getting the hoist out of the way, it's the damned rotisserie that's a huge space taker when not in use!

It seems like it mostly sits at my dad's house anymore. When it is at my house I store it behind/under my stacked saw horses.

Mine folds up but I still need to put that thing in my shed and get it out of the garage.

I keep mine outside too. Elevated off the ground on scrap 4x4s and covered with a tarp. Easy enough to uncover and then use a dolly with 'aired' tires to bring it back in the garage.

I prefer to put mine right in the middle of everything. It's non folding and pretty large.

Every time I trip on it I come up with a new creative curse to let it know how I feel.

Pretty sure it doesn't care

I have a 3 ton engine hoise, about twice the size of a normal 2 ton hoist. It doesn't fold up and takes up a fair amount of space. I am building a small shed to house a large air compressor this summer and plan to leave enough space to wheel it into the shed. The shed faces the spot in my driveway where I use the hoist so it will only have to come out about 10 feet to be used.

2 ton HF (folding) as pictured above, fits right between the two garage door tracks inside. My old engine stand nests around it, so I get 2-for-1 storage right there.
