How long does it take to get warranty items back from Snap-On?

I sent in a couple of bit sockets on 2/10.

Thanks

usually within two weeks. should see something in the next day or so. depends on the work load that the people are dealing with.

Ona side note, I find it weird that a lot of people don't have access to get in touch w/ a dealer in their locale. Maybe it's just their geographical spot on the map, but where I'm at, Youngstown, OH(Hour south of Cleveland & about an hour northwest of Pittsburgh), we have 4 dealers, that I know of to get in contact with....and they just service the tr-county area!

I would think it easy to get in touch with one of your local guys, as long as you have one....
If you see him at a shop, just stop in and b.s. with him.

It can take quite a bit longer than the "expected" 1-2 weeks, though...if you call them, they can tell you where in the process the replacement is to give you a better estimate.

I am not a professional mechanic, but I do have Snap On tools. If my tool break, can I get warranty from any Snap On truck dealer?

My local dealer rarely answered and never returned my calls. I sent my ratchet in 2 1/2 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from Snap on.

They don't make calls or send emails on warranty replacements. You will just get a replacement sent probably via UPS.

Kinda like a hold your breath and wait while hoping for the best situation?:shocking:

I have not heard of a single instance on this forum where someone has not gotten a new replacement tool when they sent it in to Snap-on. Someone posted recently that Snap-on sent them a brand new flex head ratchet based on a phone call and they told him to just scrap the old one. They have a pretty good track record based on what I have read on here.

Relax man, I'm just poking fun. I have not doubt that 100% of the people on here have had success in getting 100% of their warranty issues settled to their satisfaction. I guess in the instance of posts 10 and 14 of this they are in the holding pattern and the parts/tools will come soon

Got a little box from Snap-On today.

These are made better than the old ones I sent in. The old style had the bit held in by a pin.

I just got my replacements I sent in about 4 weeks ago. I called last week and they told me they hadn't even opened my box yet. I complained to the guy (his name was Mario I recall) and told him I sent a set of hutch struts and the damn hutch is falling down on my laptop all day. I told him how disappointed I am with having such an expensive box and having to wait for replacement parts for weeks on end. He said he would "speed up" my box.
Today I got a box with replacements.

Brand new dual 80 1/2 for my older 1/2 ratchet
Brand new long ratcheting screwdriver for an old junk bit driver non ratcheting screwdriver I got at a flea market for $5 (was trying to save it but it was bent and not going to be saved, couldn't get a replacement handle for the back bit storage area).

bunch of sockets

One thing I do not understand ab SO's non transferable warranty is how can they tell if you are the original purchaser of an item? I only ask because any tool I have ever got off the truck has been paid for in cash, in some instances I have recieved a reciept and in others I have not, I dont hold on to them anyhow but will the corporate really turn down a warranty for this reason? the poster above stated he recieved a new screwdriver for a $5 flea-market item which to me sounds good because I believe they should replace anything that has their name on it regardless.... Just curious Thanks!!

I emailed Snap-on last Monday morning about getting a replacement slide. Before lunch I had a reply asking for my address. Thursday, the slide was on my doorstep. Thanks Snap-on!!!

This may be referred to in the future as "Loving Snap-On to death". Too many unfair warranty claims may lead to a situation similar to what SK is doing.

Don't know if this is a large or a small problem of guys coming in with warranty claims for worn out flea market tools but maybe the trucks guys can comment.

I would guess that most guys would be too embarassed to try it face to face on a truck and opt to just send them in and hope for the best.
