How many actually use stubby screwdrivers?

How many of you guys actually use the things? I just bought a ton to give as gifts, and Im just wondering

i like to use them when install car stereo's and have things like shifters in my way. I like real stubbys tho, the ones with short handles and shafts. No ones with a regular size handle and a slightly shorter shaft. (think c-man pro).

Anytime I see a new type I buy it, and I do use them. I bought a bunch of the bits with a thumb sized molded handle HF had on sale for 49 cents a pair, and gave them to friends who all ended up using them.

I have palm ratchets, and "ring" with a bit ratchet.

Sometimes you have zip room and just need a couple turns on some screw, and baby tool does the job. Either that or a bit holder on a flex shaft, but that often still needs a way to start the screw.

Not too often. Although once I lost my phillip's head stubby, it's the only one I ever need to use anymore!

not too often, but when you need it, you'd better have it. I changed my TPS sensor, there's less than couple inches between it and the firewall. I could do it was a very stubby screwdriver or take the whole airbox + throttle body off then back on. 2 minutes vs. 30.

+1 They definatly come in handy. Seems like I needed them all the time before I got a set.

I had to replace some screws under my Porsche front bumper the other day. I didn't have enough room for any screwdriver I had without having to jack it up (it's lowered, of course). Went and added a stubby bit driver to my cart at chadstoolbox that day. . I also plan to get a small ratcheting bitdriver with a sears gift card I got for Christmas.

Occasionally, yes, however I just re-organized my screwdriver drawer and realized that now have around 10 stubby screwdrivers, I might start giving a few away.

I don't use them every day, but when you need one, you need it. I use my 35 year old Craftsman slotted stubby driver mostly when I'm repairing/restoring old wood working machinery.

I use them regularly, because of clearance issues, or to hold the head of a screw while threading a nut on the other side, while doing industrial electrical work.

I'd be hard-pressed to give a number as to how often. The work just sort of flows, reaching for the tool which fits best. It is only when the only tool which will do the job isn't there that I would notice it. That's the reason, after fifty years, most of the tools needed ARE there.

I didnt have any the other day when i was pulling a few trim pieces off of a jeep grand cherokee... it sure would have made the job alot easier. i ended up picking up a used philips and flat blade stubby on here a few days later. they are a big help when you dont have alot of room to work with.

i use stubbies a few times a week , mostly when i do electricial work ,or tight shots . They paid for themselves many times over . I really like the picquic multi tip stubby .

The "normal" stubby's I have don't get used much at all. Then I have a foursome of mini-stubbies I picked up at HF for $1 that will fit where nothing else will.
