My 3/8" drive and 1/4" drive drawers. My 1/2", 3/4", and 1" drawer are too much of a mess to show in public. :lol_hitti

THREE !

  • Craftsman standard length 3/8" (From my first set of tools, from a Christmas looooomg ago !)
  • Craftsman flex head (A replacement from about 10 years ago; still made in the US, but now where near as nice as the old one)
  • Craftsman standard length, fine tooth, 1/2"

The only thing I want now is that new M12 Fuel 3/8" ratchet !

Maybe a dozen. Do I have to give up my GJ card?! lol

You're exempt because you make up for it in padlocks - of which I own only a dozen or so.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ratchets. Hmmm. I give up! There's no possible way for me to guess how many 1/4", 9/32", 3/8", & 1/2" drive ratchets I own. I do not own any 1" drive ratchets.

I think I can count how many 3/4" drive ratchets I own, but it's possible I'm mis-remembering. Not counting T-handle and breaker bar drivers, they are ...

- Craftsman pear head (x2)
- Proto Los Angeles pebble
- S-K round head
- Walden
- Blackhawk
- Williams
- Snap-on
- Wera (torque wrench)

That makes 9 3/4" drive ratchets. Not as many as some, but more than most. I probably have a problem ...

Your bright & shiny chrome ratchets are being dulled by those old, un-finished ratchets. Please send all Plomb ratchets to me for proper disposal.

Having to count them up almost makes me feel bad for buying another 3/8 drive set and a 1/2 flex this weekend. I'm at about 20. And that doesn't include breaker bars, T-handles, driver handles, or speeders. That's spread out over my garage, shed, basement, and some kits I have in car and truck.

I'm just an enthusiast if you will. I probably use one 3/8 drive for 90% of what I do, but it's nice to have other sizes/options when you need them, and to have them close by when you need them.

You don't really need all that, but it helps, sometime multiple times a day.
I don't think I've ever had a long handle 1/4, or really wished that I did, but I would not kick a nice one out of the box.
Probably about a dozen in the work truck, stanley rotator being the least used, electric fits almost anywhere it would. Gear Wrench pass through is probably the most used problem solver.

Way to many! Here's my ratchet drawer. Head count is 9 plus a 3/4" drive in the bottom drawer and the ones in my truck.2d9c2c4ef1f470df9fe9c1f9e9e06261.jpg

 Isn't it Such a great problem to have :bounce:

I had the same thought about long handle 1/4 until I bought a tllf72 and it now my most used ratchet. It has basically put my fl80 on backup duty its smaller lighter and is plenty strong.

I agree with your gearwrench comment to as I have the CMan set which is just a rebrand... very handy especially what they call 1/4 drive size... on many occasions I've needed a small offset on top of narrow clearance with limited swing arc and they were the only tool that would fit.

I'd say somewhere between 30-40... More than I really need, but I have a lot of various drive sizes, lengths, tooth counts, etc.

I own about 25 in my various tool boxes. I seem to use the same three or 4 most of the time.

Yeah! Me too. Am reluctant to even go and count them.

Without much thought, I know there are at least eight of 3/8 inch drive alone (maybe nine). So, no need to actually count them and thereby confirm that I have a problem. I might have to quit picking up used tools / sets. Plausible deniability is much preferred.

Really, I had no idea that there were so many of them.

Right around 75 or so....

Here's one of my favorite drawers. It's my collection of early Craftsman branded standard teardrop ratchets dating from approximately 1956 on the far left to the late 1960s on the far right.

22 not including the bit drivers

35+ Snap-on

I think I own around 40.

Havn't counted, but it's a lot!

Probably 60 or more.

I think around 60

Thanks guys. You all are making it much easier to justify buying some more. I checked and only found six so far.

If you spend over 30 seconds digging up in the drawer to find the "right" ratchet for job, you probably own too many.

I own 8, still have room for 3-4 more.

I have about 20 at my shop, about 30 or so wandering around the garage and house here. Some of the ones here are just "for the collection" and I don't really use them.

Total of about 50 or so. I know, it's an addiction, but there are worse things to collect.

Actually,
Make that EIGHT.

I just remembered that I had inherited two old mini Snap-On's from my grandfather. One 1/4" and another 3/8" that is the same size.

Not sure if these are anything special, but they are special to me.
