I moved a fire-damaged KR1000, empty weight about 600 lbs, mine was loaded minus one drawer, and had a vice on top.
Welded a steel framework to support it from the bottom, with chains going through a spreader on the top which didn't carry any weight but prevented the lifting chains from pinching the upper part of the box.
Two loops of chains(left side and right side) bolted through the hook of a 2-ton engine hoist to lift it on and off the trailer. Had to play some games getting the chain lengths right for proper balance when lifted.
Once on the trailer, we screwed sections of 2X4s to the trailer deck around the wheels and ratchet-strapped the thing to the trailer frame. Didn't move, didn't damage the casters. About a 20-mile trip.
