I have in my posession a Charles Parker Co. Meriden Ct. No23x 8inch jaw 60 pound vise that I can't seem to find anywhere. Does anybody know how much this vise is worth and possibly the year it came out?
I had to laugh because when I saw this thread I thought "let's go see who has a post count of 1 or 2 today..." You'd think at least one of them would just be forthright and say "who wants to buy it?"So often some one joins to ask how much can I get for my xyz and then never comes back to be an active member of the group.

I keep coming across that particular vise on EBay and it's not the dMe one.
. I believe this website is 100-percent responsible for driving up the prices of vintage, US-made vises.
Someone goes online to see about their "old vise," they find this place, they look or they post, then BAM! Off to Craigslist or Ebay with a huge number!
Thank goodness I'm done buying vises. A big Wilton, a huge Wilton, a big Parker, and a hydraulic Studebaker, and I'm covered.

I'm guessing the fact that they don't make American made quality vises has more to do with driving up prices than some website...
You guys blaming GJ as the sole reason for vice prices being through the roof are hilarious. You're the same people that buy a new jeep wrangler and on the first day of driving it say "wow there are a lot of jeep wranglers on the road!"
