Good to hear you do your own work.
I guess you know where not to farm out work to after that fiasco.
I didn't notice it was a Volvo, the only Volvo I owned was a 1983 240 Wagon, that definitely had studs and nuts.
Since you are saving money on repairs, are you treating yourself to some tools? Cordless impact wrenches are great.

I think a good new 1/2" drive bar would probably make 500 ft. lb. the first time but if you repeatedly took it that high it would have a short life.
TM10G looks like it belongs with a Barbee doll. Hard to imagine much more than 20 ft. lbs. on that thing. (1/4" drive) Fits tight places.

I picked up the front of an 1850 Oliver loader tractor with the top one, that was like $7, so I've stuck to that for the one in my trucks.

Pneumatic impacts are even better.
All tools have their usefulness.
I have both cordless and pneumatic tools. I also have a large shop with a compressor and hose reels. When I see someone working in their driveway with a breaker bar and pipes, I assume (maybe incorrectly) that they do not have; a shop, a compressor, hose reels, and pneumatic tools.
It may be easier and cheaper to get started with a cordless setup with an existing battery platform.

That’s completely wrong. I have all the power tools but I use hand tools whenever I can. I break loose lug nuts with breaker bar and lug nut sockets gently and spin them off with power tools. Power tools are only relied on when space/angle is a concern. Or, some bolts like Honda crank pulley one that are too tight.

I must have missed the pictures of your work.
My comments were about the post jonesg made, it seemed like he was struggling with; a breaker bar, the handle from his jack and an additional pipe. I have seen too many men work on their cars and other peoples cars with unsafe and insufficient equipment. The message I wanted to convey was to budget or trade / negotiate for some tools and equipment. 1682504526352.png

of course, I calculate how much I just saved rebuilding my turbo (shaft snapped) and jump onto amazon.
I have my garage plumbed with 4 air outlets, full arsenal of air tools, all milwaukee m18 and m12 FUEL auto tools.
The new fuel M12 stubby impact takes the lugbolts off the volvo now they're installed properly.

New volvo CAT CONVERTER is $1600, so I just bought a mig welder, i'll weld the hangers back instead.
Volvo factory diag software on a laptop, I can't afford to own a volvo retired on SS if I can't do the work.
Tools, I love tools.

Well today I came across a Milwaukee breaker bar. Really nice. I think it looks better than Icon. Probably getting it from Zoro with a coupon.
