How to insulate a pole barn

I have a 24X32 completed pole barn with the roof already insulated with double bubble. The concrete floors are in and I wanted to insulate the sides with 2'' Styrofoam rigid sheets. Do I need to leave a SPACE BEHIND THE STYROFOAM SHHEETS 1/2" FOR AIRFLOW OR CAN I PUT THE STYROFOAM RIGID SHEETS RIGHT ON THE METAL. the METAL HAS waves in it which would provide airflow every twelve inches or would the space of about 1/2 '' behind the Styrofoam be necessary?

Let me know how much it ends up costing you if you dont mind. I have a pole building of similar size I would like to insulate and would be curious as to how much it would cost.

I have a 24' x 36' that I insulated with 4" thick x 6' wide HD facing. Shop never went below 50 deg, even when it was in the teens. Ran the heater a few hours a day when I was in it.

The best way to insulate a pole barn is to start with a 2" layer of spray foam ! If you can't afford to do the whole interior just do the all the seams and joints, anywhere air might leak in.

Fast/easiest way to install a vapor barrier and some insulation.

Keep in mind:

• many barn manufacturer's state that spray foam will void the warranty on the steel panels,
• spray foam also makes it nearly impossible to remove the steel panels later,
• spray foam is flammable and must be covered.

Want spray foam? Sheath the building with OSB before hanging the steel.
