It's very effective.
Hi guys,
how can I protect my tool box for unwanted access and how to control it by distance???
GPS? Elec. shocks? Alarm? Marines?
Serious, any ideas?
I want, that everyone who is touching my stuff gets a lesson.
Of course...box is locked. But I want to control it. Means: If someone is touching it I wanna know it and punish him for that. Example: my crappy boss tried to steal a ball hex bit...why not electro shock him while he do it....or camera observation with a built in cam???

seriously tho, i had an issue with some of my wrenches walking off a few years ago, one of our salesman decided to play mechanic after hours one night.
i found out what was going on and confronted him face to face, explained to him if i ever found a tool misplaced, i was gonna stuff it up his *** sideways.
one thing led to another, president of company showed up the following day, i told him the same thing, didnt care who it was that did it, or if i lost my job, but someone was gonna be in for an *** beating.
salesman was gone 2 days later....

in the old days , I would have switched to a shop that more respect for the techs
but , there aren't that many shops anymore , so I LEFT THE TRADE
45acp
solves a lot of problems.

Ok. I'm going overboard here... But the OP asked....
It seems like you could hook something up like a wireless home security system, run on batteries. Door-window sensors could be placed on all the drawers and lids. The main control panel could be put in a large bottom drawer, and be run off of a DC battery of some kind. Then you could have a keyfob to arm and disarm the box.
