I'm looking for some ideas.
Recent heavy rains exposed a leak on my roof. When I looked more closely it appears that there isn't step flashing on the wall-roof joint.
So I'm going to have to do some work.
But this spot is going to be interesting. I was thinking that the window flashing would effectively become the counter flashing over the step flashing. Ensuring there is a channel for water to go down the siding J. I could put in a kickout just above the window to divert water away from that spot too. It is likely the leak is from the J channel not draining properly. I dunno, need to take stuff apart and see.
I took off a window shutter - hence the wall discoloration. Silly place to put one as that window can only be seen from the woods behind the house. The outlet is a head scratcher. If I replace the siding, I'll nut off the wires and cap the electrical box. No need to have an outlet there.
Thoughts?
