How would you flash this?

Replacement Window that is.

Walls are 2x4 sheathed in 7/16 OSB, not a shred of wrap or tar paper from what I've seen.

Plan is to pull back a minimal amount of siding, remove old window and install new, add PVC trim and replace siding.

Initial thought was to use 9-12" vycor flashing tape on window frame, would give me 4-8" of sealed surface on the exterior face to work with. When I re-side down the road I can add wrap and seal to this.

Is there a better option?

Are you doing a new constructions or replacement window?

Vycor or zip flashing tape feel like the best option to me

Grace/vycor/zip seems all the same. IIRC last roll I had was marked Grace Vycor+.

Plan to get whatever the yard has, unless it's $$, then I'll order Vycor. HomeDepot doesn't stick anything but 4" zip.

Zip has a stretchy flashing tape that is nice for corners. It's different than the regular seam tape

Yep, home depot does carry that one.

I forgot what brand stretch tape I've used, they all seem to have some variation.

I checked, the roll I used last time was Grace Vycor Plus.

More looking to see if there is some better way to do this. Would prefer to house wrap then tape, but only option for that right now would be a narrow border until I pull all the siding (2 years out?).

My first thought.

When I saw the opportunity (for the title) I took it

I would tape the bottom and up the sides about 6" before install. Then after window is in place tape the nailing flange on the sides. Then drip cap and tape the top. Don't tape the bottom flange, there needs to be a way for moisture or water to get out. Once you can get housewrap on there you can tape the wrap to the old tape without removing trim.
