****, mine we not part of the recall when the recall first came out. I also checked my latch mechanism to see if it had the issue & it didn't. But since you posted I shoukd check mine again on the new list. Thanks for posting.
Just checked mine, the p/n I have is on the list now, 6 ton. Before it was only the p/n(s) starting with 6. The p/n on mine is 38847 & is the only one on the new list starting with 3 which is also the last entry on the list (if that even means anything).

I originally bought the orange & white ones. A few weeks later the gray ones came out so I returned the orange (hadn't used them yet) & bought the gray ones. Not sure if the statement about manufactured with worn tooling is actually true. If so mine were early ones I assume & again mine doesn't have the issue reported. But whatever, mine's on the new list now so I'm gonna return them.

I'm gonna return for store credit to get the extra $10. 25% off sale this week, the new Daytona ones are $80, minus the 25% will put them at the same exact price as what the store credit will be.

I know there's a bunch of people who will be against it but the new ones seem to be a lot stronger/beefier, have foot plates, & more importantly they have the locking pin. I always leave a jack in place (or wheels under the vehicle) when using jackstands cause I tend to not trust any jackstands anyway.

I wish that the webpage https://www.harborfreight.com/js-details had a date on it. Is this actually new information? It does have a copyright of 2023.
I wonder how one would even find that page? If you go to HF's website & go to the recall section, when you click on jackstands it takes you to the same pdf that stores have posted on their bulletin boards (says post until Feb 2022).

The new link has way more P/Ns which now has the P/N for my jackstands on it. The PDF on their website does not have my P/N on it. But whatever, it's from HF so I'm going tomorrow.

Mine are ready to go back. I did some research and like anything the research is only as reliable as the guy or gal doing the testing. Torin comes up well on all the tests but then one guy showed the welds on his and they are really crappy. Apparently HF has had too many lawsuits on failed jacks so I think they just bailed on all the old ones rather than face more lawsuits. Articles said that since late 2017 all jack stands have to be labeled PER PAIR. In addition they have a standard engineering test now that they get subjected to but it is only one time, and the manufacturer gets to select which one(s) to test. "Sam - could you throw a really clean weld on this one, and check it for flaws before we send it to test.... " Anyway, the new ones appear better made than the old ones.

I returned my 6 tons this morning. Cashier looked a little confused on what to do (as if no one has returned any in a while) so I showed her the webpage & explained. Return rang up at $49.99 + tax but was supposed to be $59.99 + tax for store credit. Manager had to come & approve the override & he verified the proper amount.

Then he asked me when did I get the email, I told him I just learned up the updated list. He commented that this recall was issued years ago which I knew. Started to explain that my p/n wasn't on the original recall list but he wasn't interested in hearing, he just processed it cause they pretty much have to anyway no matter how long it's been.

I bought mine like 15 yrs ago for $40 during a sale. Got me the $60 store credit, going back tomorrow to get the 6 ton Daytonas. With tomorrow's discount I should be walking out the door for exactly the store credit amount, nothing out of pocket.

Then I'll wait 10+ more years for the next recall. :ROFLMAO:
