Got this Husky 200pc socket set for $99 and for $0.50 each one with lifetime warranty dont looks too bad. Seems like Apex sockets to me.

It's simple to be impressed by expensive stuff,, it should be good but this is really revolutionary. Never in world history has there been so much utility for so little. Even poor people can own useful tools, could take only a single event to pay for it.

I've been using Husky 1/4 drive sockets for years, never had an issue.

Looks like a pretty complete set. I have minimal need for SAE sizes and try to mostly avoid 12 point sockets so its a bit overkill for me.

This is really good advice to those beginning and coming here and asking this same basic question, very common, over and over. Not out much if they are not used or if not all used and well worth it as an insurance for need at this price.

Home Depot always gets a bunch of these around the holidays.
Comparable to Craftsman.
There's probably alot of doubles (6pt & 12pt in the same size), but at least they include some 1/2" stuff.

The gearwrench promo is a great deal also (if that's still running) but no 1/2" in that.

I have at LEAST 1/2 a dozen different brands of sockets in multiple forms. I've never had a problem with any brand. I even have an old USA Husky set too.

Yes, some doubles, pretty complete and got a lot of 1/2 stuff. Got milimetrics and USA. Got enough to tear an engine out of a car. The dupes are good and really part of a decent set in the long run. Would be a different story if a guy had to put up 3 or 4K at tool truck prices to sit on it but at this price its worth it.

I honestly don't know who buys all of these big socket sets like this. Not because they aren't good, but because the fact that even inexpensive sockets last a long time, what happens to all of these socket sets bought over the years?

Canadian Tire here always has similar big sets on really good deals, almost good enough to be tempting, but I already have a complete set of Mastercraft Maximum's in my toolbox that never give me issues (and have a lifetime warranty).

Unfortunately here in Canada we don't seem to get the same volume of Husky hand tools that the US gets. They have one small section with smaller sets, but I never see anything that complete.

This is what makes this so good. You might not have a lot of use for SAE but you gottem if you needem. Same for 12 pt. Good with a breaker bar on occasion and like them better with air ratchets.

That make no sense, the prices for PR and mainland are the same just that the products availability are more limited for PR.

Picked it up in NJ at $99, great set of just sockets, no filler hex wrenches and nut drivers to push up the piece count.

I grabbed a set yesterday. I already have Gearwrench and some Kobalt, but this can fill in or be spares to what I have. At $0.50/pc I will keep most of them as backups for when I break one while working. Cheaper than the $3-6 for new ones or having to drive to the store in the middle of a job.

I stand corrected. I was in this HD yesterday and they had 5-6 sets in the clearance section. All marked at $89.

I had a 10% coupon in my hand and used it on other things. Now that I think back, I should have bought a set for the SIL and future SIL for Christmas.

Well damn, saw this thread this morning and HD website said not in stock at the local store. Went over for a propane refill and spotted a stack of these at $89. Picked one up since I was just talking to my manager that I need to get a cheap set of sacrificial sockets to grind, cut down or weld as needed.
