Which tool cart is better? The black Husky or the red US General from Harbor Freight? Is one better than the other? What are the pros and cons for both tool carts? What do you guys like better?

Assuming the husky you mention is this, I would say Harbor Freight red 5-drawer all day long. I have one at work, as does another tech, and our newest tech is looking at one. The only thing I'd get rid of mine for is a Snap-On, but that comes with a 10x price hike.

I don't have either but I have admired both in the store. I would call it a tie on quality. If the black husky had 5 drawers I'd own it.

I'm interested in knowing also but I want a box/chest like the hf 44" vs husky 46"
I'm wanting a new box and I found that the husky is cheaper by $50 after using using coupon for hf. Black vs red, wood top vs rubber and I think he has more drawers but husky has deeper. What is difference in the guage of steel they use anyone know also I can get a husky 36" stack for like $289 so thought choice but prefer the industrial chest style just bottom so I can mount a vise.

I have the 2 drawer husky. Only thing better about the husky as far as I can tell is that it comes with the pistons to hold the lid open. The 4 drawer husky and the black hf both come with the pry bar storage incorporated in the top, but the 2 drawer husky does not. The husky also has an extra piece of metal welded onto the bottom of the lid with the logo stamped onto it, so you'd loose about 1/2" of clearance with the top closed. Other than that they seem the same.

I only got mine cause it was on clearance for $49.. if you need a cart I'd get the red hf versions instead.

I would say it is about impossible to have a better quality cart than the HF 5 drawer for the money that it costs. I absolutely love mine and have no complaints on the quality. I do wish the top compartment was 2-3" higher so I could fit my larger pry bars, but it works fine for everything else.

Hands down I would get the 5 drawer if you are in the market.

+1 for the red HF 5-drawer. Though I confess I have not seen the Husky.

Related... The UPS man came yesterday with my Snap-on KRBC8T9 Hinge Assembly – a whopping $12.15 to my door. If the gas struts of the HF cart don't do it for you, here's a link to metalgod3082's photos of the oh-so-popular Snap-on Hinge Mod. Figured I'd post it here for folks who haven't been thru all 112 pages of the HF Service Cart Mods thread...
