My dad has a Husqvarna 316 electric chainsaw he bought 10 years ago and hasn't used much. The chain seems a little loose and when we turn the chain adjustment screw it doesn't appear to make much difference-- the screw turns but the tension doesn't adjust much at all.
Taking off the cover to see the chain and chain guard, it seems the adjustment screw has some threads that...well, they're not really stripped but they're not as deep as the ones further down. Dad and I are wondering if they're stripped just enough to prevent tightening. (The tensioner *does* move if you adjust the screw without the chain or guide bar installed.)
Anyone know anything about Husqvarnas and how difficult it is to replace the chain tension screws?
