Hydra-Lift

There's a used 2 post, 8k pound bottom plate Hydra Lift near me for sale at $1000. The seller doesn't know model off-hand and doesn't have documentation. It's currently installed and he claims it works great. looks pretty well used in pictures.

My original plan was to wait till the fall and buy a unit from Greg Smith Equipment. Should I entertain the Hydra Lyft?

There seems to be some question about whether it's an acme screw lift vs. whether it's hydraulic. I suppose, if you think parts are hard to get, $1000 is not really cheap. My general attitude is that I would buy it if it's working, but really, you could have a brand new one for $2000. FWIW.

I have a hydralift 9000' pound bottom plate. I haven't had any problems, and don't use it a lot, so I can't say about difficulty of parts.

It's made much better than any china made greg lift. And with the side mounting plates, you can easily mount it to a floor that's thinner than 6", in my opinion.

I'd assume an 8000' lift would be model 28?
