Hydraulic Arbor Press Info.

I'm looking to build a manual/hydraulic arbor press & I'm looking for some ideas.

I like the Louis Ashley design shown in Popular Mechanics!


However other than this "YouTube Link" I can't seem to find a good plan/print on that design?

If anyone has built a press like this or has more info. on some downloadable plans, It would help me out a lot.

how about buying one and then adding the hydrolic feature

I bought mine used many years ago for cheap enough that it would never had been worth it to build one (money wise)

I'm still planning to build one someday since I have an ideal piece of stock for the ram.
My neighbor gave me a PTO drive shaft that was from an old tractor, it has a 1-1/4" square solid inner shaft with a 2-3/8" round outer housing. However, since picking up THIS BEAST I've kind of put the project on hold.
