From day one I never liked the drawer liners in my snap on box. It drives me insane that they move around and slide when I am not even a heavy use mechanic. I am a weekend warrior and I take the time to close the drawers softly and some how all my tool end up sliding towards the back of the drawers! It really is downright infuriating! So my tools don't slide around on the liners, the liners slide around in the drawers.

Aside from spending $200 for some foam mats is there any other solution you guys can think of. I have even tried magnets in the front corners.

Oh and since I have the 30 inch deep box, I cannot find replacement drawer liners easily. Looks like the only ones available are from snap on direct.

Hot glue down the corners (?) and/or other various points.

I have never tried that but the hot glue gun continues to impress me.

Mine are from HF. I used the rolls and there are some seams but much better than what I had. They don't move around anymore.

Can you use double sided carpet tape to keep the liner in place?

FYI, I use a google search phrase to find GJ threads. Type this into the google search bar. If you change up the words (replace "drawer liner") you can get different results.

site:garagejournal.com drawer liner

Lots of threads asking that question, many are older threads, small sampling:

I've had the same trouble and think the double-stick tape could be the solution, if it is used all across front and back edges.

Maybe try spray adhesive and spray the drawer then put your liner in

I have some drawer liners I got from Sears years ago, they have a rubbery grip feel to them

Blue painters tape works excellent and won't damage the metal. Basically fold it around itself so the sticky side is on the outside all around. Then put it on all 4 corners of the drawer and press the liner into it. Will hold it great.

The liners that came from Snap On with my KRA box were the same hot garbage of sliding around.

There’s a company that’s been talked about on here that does better liner material but I can’t think of the name

This is heresy in a Snap-On thread, but I use and like the Harbor Freight solid drawer liner in all my toolboxes. I second the comment that if you still have sliding issues to try double sided tape or something.

The physical depth of the drawer is 26.5 inches. No one makes a drawer liner that wide!!!

But i like the painters tape idea. I am going to try that

Best way do it is one piece double sided tape front to back in middle and front corners if needed .
don't do all edges or both front and back or side edge as doesn't allow bit of movement needed and then puckers into a mess .
You can get liner and it discussed on here but it spendy job compared to some tape and bit of thought/effort .

This is the best I have found at a reasonable price. I've been using it for years and it holds up well. Tools stay where you put them even while rolling cabinet around. I'd never again consider anything else. I've used other things **** as vinyl floor runner material, cork liners, shelf liner, etc. Plus it's impregnated with Zerust to help combat rust.

What, nobody here regrips their own golf clubs? Use double sided golf grip masking tape. There are tons of sources but I get mine from The Golfworks. Just do a search on golf grip tape. We woodworking people use double sided tape all the time to hold stuff while we route it. It's particularly good for holding down templates.

Never had an issue with my snap-on liners but I have been told different boxes use different materials. I personally have used EPPCO with great success but nsimaterials has premium drawer liners

Some good ideas here.
Go full gonzo and get some VHB tape. Now, who else has a problem that needs expert opinion? :bounce:

I tried 4 or 5 things in that the drawer liner thread and ended up happiest with thin yoga mats - also were real cheap.

I used magnets I got online. They make small thin magnets that are pretty strong and if you want to remove the liner for cleaning it's a snap. Stay away from spray adhesive.

I found a roll of black drawer liner at Big Lots for just a few dollars. It's a small roll, but it's cheap.

The way I played last night mine need re-gripping or alternatively just throwing in a nearby lake!!

Indoor/outdoor carpet works well for me... cheap and does not move.
But it's way too thick. You'll be sacrificing precious drawer depth. I guess that's OK if you have more storage then tools. It's also been reported that indoor outdoor carpet can accelerate rust due to how it's made.

10-4 on this! After redoing our kitchen the Mrs was always complaining about the silverware sliding around and the specialty utensils drawers being so screwed up she had to hunt every time she wanted something. Double sided tape saved many an earache!
