... It's difficult to ignore.....

Think someone returned it and it ended up back on the floor?

Those are useful for working around corners. A full set has a straight, a right and a left model. Sometimes you can use a torque adapter to do the same thing, but it's easiest if your ratchet has the offset built into it.

Now that's a true flex head if I ever saw one. I think someone bought it, bent it and returned it with the cashier not knowing any better or the customer telling the cashier it was like that when I bought it and only to put it back on the shelf.

I have seen handles bent up for spark plug applications so I am sure this is a new HF innovation.

Crazy huh?

I've got a breaker bar I bought to keep in my truck in order to make sure I can get the lugs off if I need to (land rover... huge lug nuts) along with an impact socket. I've used it several times and it's not given even the slightest hint that it would bend before it was way over abused.

It really doesn't look like it was ever sold. Is it possible it was forged and bent before it cooled and the Peoples Tool factory number 27 just needed to make quota for that day so it was assembled and shipped?

I would think that if it bent like that cold, there would be marks or ripples in the chrome, no?

It just goes to show what I always do at HF is the right thing to do..... like dealing with the Russians... trust but verify. I take a good look at everything I buy there compared to the next thing in on the shelf as some are obviously better than others.... like the ratcheting wrenches marked Taiwan seem to be of better quality than the China ones.

It's an obstruction ratchet. Some day you'll wish you had that noodle handy for getting out that last stubborn bolt.

Definitely an obstruction ratchet, you laugh but the day you need it and don't have it, you will be crying.

I'm sure the other customers were thinking the same thing.

He never said he was a customer, just that he was at HF. There's still a week til payday so give the guy the benefit of the doubt, he may just be broke and bored. :p

I cant say I'm surprised by the OP's picture, the fail is strong in HF if you pay attention. Wish I had a nickel for every rusty tool proudly displayed on an end cap, I could probably buy HF given that much!
