I am so fed up with these Harbor Freight bashing threads, knock it off.

I love Harbor Freight. I have many Harbor Freight tools. I personally find this thread very amusing and the GJ members jokes so far have been harmless. :bounce:

Even the most snobby, hipstery tool collector with Snap-On nose hair trimmers and Mac Tools underwear, who thinks Americans make only indestructible products and anything made beyond CONUS is trash is a closeted Harbor Freight shopper. They probably have a harbor freight tool now or have had one in the past.

To those who think this is a HF bashing thread, READ the title again.

To be honest I was actually surprised to see such a thing on sale.

Even back in the good Craftsman days you could get some quality control clunkers.

I have a very nice CM open end wrench that has no size markings at all.

I've said other elsewhere and I'll say it again that I think HF's quality in some way areas is going up.

Not to long ago I wanted a set of screwdrivers for my new cart and bought the 10 dollar HF set. I've been using them regularly and they are a screaming deal.

I also looked hard at T handled ball end Allen wrenches and ended up with the HF metric/SAE set with the rack.

Are they super crazy quality. No.

But they are a good value for my use.

There's no HF hate here.... It's more like the **** you give your brother or a good friend just to jerk their chain.

I am not much on HF but truly that happens in every brand and most every type of product. QC will catch a lot but never all.

Either that or the quality control is just not there. Either way, these are constructed of the finest Chinesium or Thainesium.

I occasionally shop at Harbor Freight, just picked up the bag of 50 red rags for $11, after using the 20% off coupon it was less than $10 with tax and the counter lady even gave me the free tape measure too.

Problem is, somebody only used that ratchet for half the job. Tighten that bolt back up, and that ratchet would straighten right back out.

Hope you didnt miss Mick's sarcasm, one of the best parts of GJ! And no, many of us arent interested in HF tools in the least nor do we shop at Walmart.

The biggest problem at HF is the metallurgy, they clearly dont alloy the Chinesium with nearly enough Scrapbinium, preferring instead to substitute a mixture of recycled Hyundai and SwissCheesium. :3gears: :bounce:

Crazy huh?
It really doesn't look like it was ever sold. Is it possible it was forged and bent before it cooled and the Peoples Tool factory number 27 just needed to make quota for that day so it was assembled and shipped?

I would think that if it bent like that cold, there would be marks or ripples in the chrome, no?
TG

My vote is that it was bent at the factory instead of it was used. Personally, if I see this at HF, Sears, whatever, I would buy it. Sell it on eBay, and probably worth good money for some collector :rocker:

I have literally brought back 7 of those looking like that, they are the 3/4 drive and they're so weak you can actually do that by hand. But I just keep bringing em back and replacing lol.

I'll assume the custom pens you sell are priced the same as the pens at Wal Mart.

Lighten up Francis! It was a joke! No my pens are quite a bit more than Walmart, but they reflect the hours that go into them. Didn't mean to wad up any *******, I like Snap-On too and I realize you pay for quality.
