RainX on the shower ceramic tiles does away w/ the frequent cleaning chores. You can see the hard water bead up and fall.

Also wipe silicone spray lube on your wiper blades. I just spray it on a rag and wipe the blades with it -- keeps 'em moving well and quiet.

I need to give that a try on my wiper blades, they aren't that old but they like to make noise while going across the windshield. Ironically they're RainX branded wiper blades too LOL. They're not leaving streaks but they must be getting dried out since they're starting to squeak while moving across the windshield, maybe that silicone spray will help with that, I'll definitely try it, no sense in replacing the wiper blades now, winter is about over, and the summer heat will destroy the new blades anyways.

Stationed in South Carolina with my sport bike in 1990 I used it on my wind screen and helmet visor. Bugs would mostly slide off when I hit them. Waaay less bug guts.
On my truck, if you went over 60mph or so you almost didn’t need wipers
In a light rain, it would just blow off.
You really need to follow the instructions and do a good job. And use the original little squeeze bottle style and take your time. That spray on one step cleaner stuff isn’t even close.

If you use Rain x washer fluid it work nice. It also has a somewhat lasting residual effect should you run out and use just some basic washer fluid. I really do like the RainX washer fluid!!

I always had hazing problems when using the treatment as described on the bottle but went to the Rain x washer additive and it just flat works. It doesn't matter whether the dealer tops up the reservoir or not, there is always enough in there to mix and work great. Of course it helps living here in Vegas where it only rains a couple of times a year

I think this is my issue. I've been trying to use the spray bottle ****. I swear it doesn't work as well as the squeeze bottle did way back when. I'll see if I can find the squeeze bottle. Thanks.

We regularly use RainX, love the stuff!
Like mentioned before, along with the water rolling right off the glass, bugs and dirt don't stick as bad either.

We go on a lot of road trips and along with checking the oil, tire pressures before leaving, clean the windows and apply RainX.

I have found the easiest way to avoid the streaking issues is to apply the RainX before washing the car. It is double work cleaning the windows first to apply the product, then wash the car but the glass always comes out perfectly...

Clean wiper blades with isopropyl alcohol
Then put some 303 on a clean rag and apply to the blades
Let soak in and dry before using
It will prolong the rubber drying out

I have to agree. I love Rain-X, but after trying Aquapel, I have to say, it lasts far longer. I had Aquapel put on my truck when I had it detailed back in Oct 2018, and it still beads up water a little from that one application, not nearly as good as at first, but still helps. I guess it's time to do it again.

I was originally told it was only available to professionals, but now I see you can buy the stuff on Amazon. More expensive than Rain-X, but far less applications. Worth it to me.

I've found it to be miserable riding/driving vehicles without rainx. I imagine this is why you see people driving around with their wipers on HIGH when its just drizzling.

Rainx now makes a -30F washer fluid. Should help keep things from freezing up. The regular orange is good to -20F though.

RainX make it for -45C/-50F up here for when it actually gets cold.

I've used Rain-X since the 70's, when it was very hard to find. If you like Rain-X, try Griot's Garage Glass Sealant. It's $8.99 for 8 oz., but durability is months, not weeks. I also don't have the common Rain-X issue with the Griot's of fogging for the first few days after an application.
I've tried Aquapel and it's definitely good stuff, but $10 for a single application is more than I care to invest.

I like the the PPG Aquapel site explicitly states that it's not a silicone. I keep silicones away from surfaces were I can -- don't care for the way they migrate to all surfaces, interfere with adhesion, and are difficult to clean off.

I recently installed Rain-X Laditude wiper blades on the Jeep. Amazing the difference, I also popped for the Rain-X windshield juice. I'm impressed.

I have purchased Aquapel from Amazon many timesover the past 10+ years. Everything I have received look correct and has worked as advertised. I am sure there are some counterfeits based on the reviews. The good thing about Amazon is, if it doesn’t look right, print a label and send it back. Buy a multi-pack and the price per application goes down significantly. After you use it, you will catch yourself telling others about it and there goes the extra Aquapel you bought.

I suspect the difference you see is more from the juice than the blades.

I've always said that rainx windshield wash can make marginal blades look good.

I did an experiment a few years ago; one car got Rain-X, the other Aquapel. And now I forgot which car has which. I want to strip one car and start over. What's the best way to do this? Just window cleaner? Alcohol? Clay bar?

I found that both worked well but that Aquapel seemed to require higher speed to get the beads to move and the wiper blades started dragging earlier. It lasted longer though.
