...stumbled onto GJ
I'm looking to build myself a garage, so I was looking for information on how to go about the initial site prep before trenching for footings, and how to deal with a sloping grade. That got me to a thread in the Garage Gallery; it may have been this one by Falcon67, or maybe this one by R. Deschain... I don't know, I've been binge reading ever since... Spent quite a while finding out how Woody managed to achieve what's shown in his sig...!
The Garage Gallery is my favourite place to hang around, but I've also learned a lot from some of the other sub-forums. I've been lurking in Lighting, Heating, Tool Discussion, and bouncing around a few other areas. So much to learn!!
What's in my garage: nothing yet, it's not built! ;-) But my 1968 Plymouth Fury Convertible is tucked away in the barn, awaiting a space where I can get to working on it.
What I did in my garage today: or in the equipment shed, anyway:
Some other stuff too, but this is an intro thread so enough fir now

What I did in my garage today: or in the equipment shed, anyway:
- aired up the flat rear tire on the little JD riding mower; I already have a leak at the front, let's see how bad the leak at the rear is...
- put air in the half flat tractor tire, discovered the rear tires have water in them, and that the Schrader valve in the tire I was filling is bad... air in, water out... apparently the valve cap was the only thing holding pressure the last couple years!
- resurrected the ATV! I figured out the other day that the -ve post on the battery was arcing to the case when I tried to crank the motor, so I pulled the battery and cleaned it, cleaned the battery wire terminals, and put it all back together with dielectric grease. It cranked over great, but wouldn't start. I figured I'd have to rebuild the carb, but I tried cranking it today and it fired right up! Yay!!
