I got my tools last week and was very disappointed to say the least. My german-made Stahlwille 1/2" socket set was replaced with a 3/8" Stanley socket set, how does that work!?! Same deal with my screwdrivers, replaced with crappy chinese made ones and they aren't even 1000V VDE insulated. Spanners, again expensive german made stahlwille, and vintage Australian made sidchrome replaced with no-frills Chinese spanners in less comprehensive sizes, from 10mm-24mm instead of 6mm-30mm and no imperial spanners
The only thing I recieved that was half decent were Channel-lock brand pliers, multigrips etc. They are good but I still prefer my old Knipex/NWS pliers and especially multigrips. Channel-locks are cheaper than knipex/nws as well. and my Fluke 28ii multimeter was replaced with a fluke laser-beam thermometre thing

. My boss also recieved a fluke thermometre instead of a multimeter.
I rang up and complained, as the policy clearly states that my tools will wherever possible be replaced with identical items. In this case, they were unable to find anywhere that would sell any of the stuff i had lost so it had been replaced with "comparable goods". I again pleaded with them to just reimburse me for the amounts paid as per my reciepts but no that would just be to easy and sensible to do. I have to go out, find a business who will sell the tools here in Australia, and send them the bill.
So the owner of a small local independant toolshop now loves me. I had a good chat with Greg, and being a top bloke that he is, he will go out of his way and arrange for all my tools to be special ordered in. He even gave me his card with his email, homephone and everything written on it. He rang me today and said he could get my stahlwille socket/spanners for $1950 and even offered me a discount, but I told Greg not to discount himself, just send me the bill in full and I'll pass it on.
