I just pulled the trigger on a plasma cutter

After buying my new Tig welder in January, I've had the itch for a plasma cutter. Miller has a 15% rebate until the end of March, so I went for it. It's a 625 x-treme. Capable of cutting up to 5/8 steel, and will run on 120v & 240v. I went ahead and got the circle cutter guide, and a consumable kit too.

I can't wait to try it out, I haven't used one in several years.

Myself being a fan of the red machines. I just wanted to ask if you did a comparison between the 2, and if you did what made you pick the miller. I'm not opposed to the blue stuff & I was just curious.

FWIW .... i have two hypertherm plasma cutters in my shop .... they are holding up the cobwebs in the corner.

but wait ... Ford is better than Chevy which is better than Dodge ... or is it the other way around?

I can't even rember which one I got. Miller 675 hypotherm? I don't know or don't care. It works like it is supposed to. You will love having a plasma cutter. Thanks for sharing.

I love my plasma. I'll admit I've pulled it out less in the last couple of weeks after I discovered the metal cuttiing circular saw. Plasma opens up so many possibilities and makes cutting ridiculously easy.

I bought my miller last november from zorotools.com...works great, haven't had an issue with it. It cuts stuff, not really sure why it would be different from a hypertherm.

The one I've used in the past was a Hypertherm. The selling feature was the auto restart for cutting expanded metal. The torch is made by Hypertherm, or so I was told.
